🎄 Dignity Memorial Wichita is proud to support Lexi’s LAMB this Christmas season! 🎁
We’re honored to join this heartfelt mission of bringing comfort, joy, and a sense of relief to children and their families right here in our community. Each year, Lexi’s LAMB touches the lives of hundreds of infants through teens in local hospitals — and together, we can help make this year the brightest yet.
If you feel called to give, we’d love for you to participate in the Lexi’s LAMB Toy & Supply Drive by dropping off NEW and unwrapped items at any of our four Wichita Dignity Memorial locations:
📍 Lakeview Funeral Home & Lakeview Cemetery
📍 Resthaven Mortuary & Resthaven Gardens of Memory
📍 DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary
📍 Hillside Funeral Home West
Let’s come together to help brighten a child’s holiday season. ❤️

The iconic Resthaven Cemetery Cross is getting a long-overdue makeover!
All of the original wiring and lighting are being completely replaced with new, energy-efficient LED lights that will shine brighter than ever—once again illuminating the Wichita night sky. The outer panels, which were originally lightweight plastic, are being replaced with stronger white panels and securely wired into place to better withstand those famous Kansas winds.
After months of weather delays (thanks to one very rainy spring, summer and fall), we’re thrilled to finally see this restoration come to life. We can’t wait to share more photos as the project progresses—stay tuned for the big reveal!
✨ Brighter. Stronger. Restored

We’ve Made the News — and Capone’s the Star! 🎬🐾
Not your typical headline, but we’re thrilled to share that Capone made his TV debut on KSN TV! After stealing hearts at his first-ever Woofstock appearance just weeks ago, our beloved pup has officially gone viral.
Capone has been part of our family since he was just a baby. Alongside his amazing human, Annie Morris of Dignity Memorial Wichita, he’s been bringing warmth, comfort, and a few tail wags to the halls of DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary and beyond. From brightening the days of residents in assisted living communities to offering gentle support to families during difficult times, Capone is truly making a difference.
💛 Want Capone to visit you or your organization? Send us a message DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary — he’d love to stop by and say hello!
Dealing with someone’s death is never easy, but one Wichita funeral home is doing something unique to try to comfort grieving families.

Roman soldiers legally were not allowed to marry, so they legitimized their relationships in death by dedicating gravestones of their loved ones. This practice transferred to Britain while military forts were shared by the Romans and the British.

Hap Bledsoe established Resthaven Gardens of Memory in 1958 in a wheat field on the west side of Wichita, Kansas. Resthaven Mortuary opened on the southwest corner of the cemetery grounds in 1970. The funeral home and cemetery allow you to handle everything from funerals and cremations to burials and other cemetery services at convenient sister locations.
Funeral Home Renovations
Over the years, Resthaven Mortuary has gone through 2 renovations—once in 2002 and again in 2012—in order to accommodate approximately 500 funerals a year. Expanding viewing rooms, an event room addition, updated furniture and carpeting, and refreshed restrooms are just some of the improvements.
We also built a showcase for our art collection. Our former owner was a collector of bronze and crystal, and the funeral home has many limited-edition Re*****on statues on display
Ready to Serve Future Generations
Resthaven Funeral Home and Resthaven Gardens of Memory provide the funeral and cemetery services that today's Wichita families are looking for. The funeral home facility is modern and up to date. The cemetery property spans 119 acres with only about 65 acres currently developed. This ensures plenty of space at Resthaven Gardens of Memory for future generations to come.
Resthaven Gardens Of Memory Cemetery
Resthaven Gardens of Memory is a Wichita cemetery that sits on 119 acres of vibrant green property. The burial park was designed to be a calm, peaceful space. The entire cemetery has flush-to-the-ground bronze markers, which gives the grounds a park-like atmosphere.
We have a phenomenal watering system with 2 wells, which allows us to irrigate the cemetery in the hot Kansas summers. Our meticulously maintained grounds contain stately trees, lush flowerbeds and a sparkling stream.
The cemetery property also contains many gardens with a main feature to express each garden’s theme. These features include artwork that is known throughout the Midwest. Many of the older gardens focus on a religious theme while the newer gardens include Veterans Garden and Rose Garden.
