The Feelings Wheel is one of the simplest — and most powerful — tools we have.

Most people stop at:
“I’m stressed.”
“I’m fine.” or "Things are good"
“I’m overwhelmed.”

But those aren’t core emotions. They’re summaries.

When you slow down and get specific, everything shifts:
- Stressed → Anxious? Pressured? Insecure?
- Angry → Hurt? Disrespected? Powerless?
- Overwhelmed → Afraid? Inadequate? Unsupported?

The more precisely you can name what you’re feeling, the more effectively you can respond instead of react.

High performers often try to outwork their emotions.
Leaders often try to override them.

Treat emotional clarity like a performance skill.

Save this. Use it this week.

Ask yourself: What am I actually feeling right now? and then... ALLOW yourself to feel the feeling before you move on with your day.

Go back to bed!

The National Sleep Foundation (NSF) announced Sleep Awareness Week® 2026 is from March 8-14

Sleep is the ultimate recovery tool — and often the first thing sacrificed.

When you sleep, your brain is:

Rebuilding muscles
Strengthening focus + decision-making
Processing learning + emotion
Protecting long-term mental health

This week’s challenge:

Prioritize one sleep-supportive habit:
• Set a consistent bedtime
• Limit screens 60 minutes before sleep
• Build a calming nighttime routine
• Give yourself permission to rest

Sleep isn’t a reward.
It’s part of the work. 💛

Your mind needs reps too.

Just like in the gym, building mental resilience takes consistent practice—especially when it’s uncomfortable.

Start small:
→ Notice a negative thought.
→ Don’t fight it—just name it.
→ Then challenge it with something more balanced.

It’s not about perfection. It’s about mental fitness.

Coaches aren’t just looking at your stats—they’re watching how you show up.

Your energy, your communication, your resilience, and your respect for others all tell them who you really are on and off the field.

So many high performers—athletes, business owners, professionals—are silently carrying emotional weight that doesn’t show up on the surface.

They might look like they’re doing fine.

But behind the scenes, they’re grieving, overwhelmed, anxious, or exhausted from holding it all together.

These posts are just a glimpse into the conversations I hear every week.
This is what they wish people knew.

If this resonates, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to keep pretending you’re fine.

I’m currently accepting new virtual clients across Kansas—let’s talk when you’re ready.

Coaches notice players who don’t just play, but learn.

Are you open to feedback, ready to fill any role, and curious enough to keep improving?

That’s the kind of teammate who gets recruited.
