I earned my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Friends University and work with individuals, children, and families. I am passionate about supporting people as they navigate life’s challenges and discover meaningful paths toward growth, healing, and resilience.

My therapeutic approach is collaborative and tailored to each client’s unique needs. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and elements of Play Therapy, allowing me to meet clients where they are and provide support that feels both practical and compassionate.

In addition to clinical work, I bring experience in community case management, which helps bridge the gap between therapy and real-world solutions. This background allows me to support clients not only emotionally, but also in navigating resources and systems that impact their daily lives. As a member of Delta Kappa, the Marriage and Family Therapy Honors Society, I am committed to high standards of care and ongoing professional growth.

I strive to create a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard and understood. My goal is to walk alongside you with empathy and care as you explore challenges, recognize your strengths, and work toward meaningful and lasting change. Dan Bigelow is a relationship-centered mental health professional with a rich background in education, communication, and systemic therapy. A 2025 graduate of Friends University’s Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy program, Dan is an active member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and brings a lifelong passion for learning and helping others into every therapeutic encounter.

Before entering the field of mental health, Dan earned degrees in English from the University of Minnesota (2002) and Elementary Education from Friends University (2018). His experience as a fourth-grade teacher deeply shaped his understanding of the importance of relationships—not only with children, but with the families and systems that support them. That insight continues to guide his work with clients of all ages.

Dan works with children (ages 5 and up), adolescents, adults, couples, and families. His clinical training includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for individuals, Structural Family Therapy for families, and the Gottman Method for couples. He is currently expanding his theoretical knowledge into psychoanalytic approaches, driven by a curiosity for deeper emotional insight and systemic understanding.

Grounded in the belief that “life is about relationships,” Dan approaches therapy with empathy, clarity, and truth, fostering a collaborative spirit that honors each client’s unique journey.
