Angel Coleman, LMSW

Angel Coleman, LMSW Hello!! Thank you for visiting my page. I am a licensed therapist and serve children, teens, families, adults and couples ✨️ You’ve found yourself concerned.

Is your kiddo struggling with worry, a sense of uneasiness, and endless concern? Maybe they’re struggling to transition into preschool or middle school. You notice they’re having trouble falling asleep at night, or they’re crying at the drop of a hat. You’re seeking comfort for your child. A place where they can feel at ease to open up about their thoughts and feelings. A place where they can begin to calm their overthinking and focus. As a therapist, I believe it is important to listen, encourage and advocate for children. I provide an inclusive, comfortable, and nonjudgmental environment where the child can be themselves. A place where the child can work to identify and express their feelings. My approach to therapy is solution-focused and advocacy-based. I believe it is important to focus on setting goals and working on reaching them together. I encourage the child to take part in learning and using the coping skills, and I believe children should be celebrated for their positive achievements.

From the outside, healing does not always look dramatic. There are no obvious milestones, no clear moment where everything suddenly changes.

Often the shifts are quiet. You notice that something that once triggered you no longer has the same power. You respond with a little more calm, a little more clarity, a little more patience with yourself.

Those changes may not look impressive from the outside, but inside they can feel like breathing room returning.

Peace rarely arrives all at once. More often, it slowly finds its way back to you.

Avoidance can feel like protection. Like you are keeping yourself safe by not looking too closely. By staying busy. By convincing yourself it is not that serious.

But what we avoid does not disappear. It waits. It shows up in our reactions. In our triggers. In the patterns we swear we are done repeating.

Growth asks something different of you. It asks you to sit still long enough to feel what you ran from. To name what hurt. To acknowledge what you tolerated. To admit what you needed but never said out loud.

That discomfort is not regression. It is integration. It is your nervous system learning that you can face the truth without collapsing.

Strength is not in how well you distract yourself. It is in how honestly you are willing to confront yourself.

You pour so much love into your friends and family. Try to save a little bit of that fierce love for the person in the mirror. You are worthy of the same kindness you give to others.

Why do we think it's okay to bully ourselves and be mean and hateful when we make a mistake? If that's familiar - I’m proposing a truce with our brains today. Be as kind to yourself as you would be to this little arctic fox. (Or at least, try not to be your own worst troll).

You are allowed to enjoy stability after chaos. When your life has been loud for a long time, calm can feel unfamiliar, even undeserved. But peace is not a pause in growth. It is the space where growth becomes sustainable, where your body is no longer bracing for what might go wrong.

Calm does not mean you have stopped evolving. It means your nervous system is learning that it is safe to breathe again. That you no longer need survival mode to move forward. Rest is not the end of your story. It is the foundation that allows the next chapter to be written with clarity instead of fear.

Stability can be healing too.
