InterHab members gathered at our Topeka offices for a governmental affairs prep session ahead of tonight’s legislative reception. It’s always inspiring to see advocates come together, share insights, and get aligned as we prepare to engage with lawmakers on the issues that matter most to Kansans with disabilities. Looking forward to an impactful evening!

Some of our shooting stars self advocates once again out helping with the kid zone at the Cars for Charities Rod & Custom Car Show.

They presented a trophy to one of the longtime car owners Kenny White and his beautiful1950 Mecury. Kenny has been a great supporter of the show for years.

Come enjoy the show and Kids Zone Sat and Sun.

Our Story

The Arc of Sedgwick County makes a difference in the lives of individuals and families living with intellectual and developmental disabilities. For 65 years, The Arc has promoted their general welfare, fostered the development of programs on their behalf and increased the public’s awareness and acceptance. We provide educational programs and social experiences for youth and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

Our nonprofit organization began in 1953 in a grassroots effort by parents concerned about services and future opportunities for their children and the families and children of tomorrow. They had a vision for community based services. They thrived off of teamwork as they collaborated with and supported each other. The future generations have benefited from their passion and advocacy to achieve a better life for their kids and a better community to provide opportunities.
