The Kansas wind didn’t slow us down on National Take a Walk in the Park Day 🌳

We spent the afternoon exploring the beautiful trails and soaking in the scenery at Great Plains Nature Center. When we needed a break from the breeze, we wandered into the nature center and dove into some seriously fascinating exhibits.

Highlight of the day - watching a handler work with Tito the American Kestrel - such an amazing experience!

If you’re looking for something fun, peaceful, and educational, this spot is definitely worth a visit!

We’re so grateful here at The Regent to partner with the Sedgwick County Zoo for our monthly Zoo Trek! 🐾

Each visit brings an exciting opportunity to learn, as zoo volunteers share fascinating facts and introduce us to incredible animal ambassadors and biofacts. This month, we explored the world of African animals before meeting two special Kansas natives up close - a box turtle named Carapace and a brown tarantula named Texas!

It’s always a wonderful experience filled with learning, curiosity, and a little adventure - we can’t wait for next month’s visit!

Beanbag Baseball on the patio was such a fun choice.

It’s competitive enough to get everyone fired up, but lighthearted enough that the whole vibe stays joyful.

Sunshine, fresh air, and a little friendly rivalry really do wonders for the spirit.

St. Patrick’s Day at The Regent was a huge success! 🍀

We kicked off the celebration with an incredible performance by the Wichita Caledonian Pipes & Drums. If you’ve never heard Amazing Grace played on bagpipes, you’re truly missing out - it was unforgettable.

Our Chef and Culinary Team outdid themselves with a delicious Blarney lunch that brought everyone together. To top it all off, the Corry Academy of Irish Dancing filled the room with energy and tradition through their wonderful performances.

A heartfelt thank‑you to every resident, guest, performer, and staff member who helped make this St. Patrick’s Day so special; events like these remind us how vibrant and connected our community truly is.

We had a fantastic turnout for Mr. Ben Franklin’s visit to the Regent. The audience enjoyed a lively blend of historical insight and good humor, and we all walked away a little wiser - and with a few more laughs - thanks to the experience.

Don Greteman, who brings Ben Franklin to life with such authenticity and warmth, was an absolute joy to host.

Thank you, Don, for sharing your talent and for making history feel vivid, human, and wonderfully alive.

They stopped by to share helpful information about severe weather safety and preparedness with the residents. It was a wonderful and informative visit, and everyone especially enjoyed meeting May!

At The Regent, we have many amazing residents who have incredible stories to share.

Resident Harry was in the Marine Corps and then became an officer in the Wichita Police department. He was featured in one of the 1991 episodes of 'Top Cop.'

He was an integral part of helping with one of the first hostage situations in Haysville, Kansas.
