I usually keep things on this page pretty simple and share the words of others. I wanted to share this recent experience of mine and pieces of what I’m taking from it.

To my clients, thank you for being with me through your journey. Thank you for trusting me with your burdens and allowing me to be with you through your sorrows and your triumphs. I understand if you choose to not continue with me through the upcoming changes. That does not diminish the gratitude I have for you. You take the next steps in your life with the lessons I have tought you and the faith I have in you and your ability to rise above your believed limitations.

I’m always here for you.

Last week I went on my 2nd intensive retreat on Bowen Island, Canada.

I was reminded within the first hour how hard the work is. I wanted to run away and go back to my comfort.

The experience is about moving into alignment with who I am. Moving out of fear and survival patterns, calling out the noise of my brain for what it is (just noise), and moving into the full power I possess.

What I hold from this experience and what I want to share:

1. The old patterns hold onto us as long as we allow them. They fold in on us pretending to be a protective blanket but that is what allows us to make excuses to keep it with us. Name it and remind yourself that it will not be with you as you move into your next phase of life.

2. Exerting energy to who and/or what you believe wronged you diminishes your vibration and weakens you. No matter how justified you feel, let it go and live for yourself and not giving others energy.

3. Growth feels scary because your brain is unfamiliar with the change. That’s all it is. It’s unfamiliarity. It’s not wrong. It’s not unobtainable. Our brains just tell us those things so we can stay in the familiar, even when the familiar feel like drowning in overwhelm and our own sorrow. Growth is worth it.

4. Stop distracting yourself from life and calling yourself a multitasker. You’re not a multitasker. You’re an avoider. Avoider of slowness, of feeling yourself in the moment, of feeling uncomfortable. Put your phone down when you’re eating, when you’re with others, when you feel anxious, bored, scared, uncomfortable, etc.

5. Everyone has the capacity to be in alignment. Alignment with your Source. A place where we feel our feelings with the knowing that I am ok and free in those moments. Alignment is expansion.

6. Ones value is not connected to what we do. My value is separate from my work, how i care for others, and what I do for others. My value is not based on what has happened in the past. I am valuable just in being.

7. We need to give ourselves more credit for how hard we are trying/what we do. Effort counts even when the results aren’t coming as fast as we want them to.

I’m still learning to let go of my resistance to fully feel and express my emotions. I’m still learning to love myself just as I am. I’m still learning to let my guard down and allow in the full abundance of this world.

I’m making some big changes and while the previous version of myself wants to hold me back by telling me that all of this will end badly, I know that those decisions have been made from a place of alignment. I’m doing what I tell all my clients to do. I’m letting myself be in the uncomfortable because that is where the expansion is. It wont be uncomfortable forever.

Growth hurts.

But staying stuck somewhere you’ve outgrown?

That’s real pain.
