We are welcoming The Kansas Academy of Oil Painters for our new art exhibition February 7th through April 23rd! The opening reception will be on February 7th, 4:30-6:00 pm in the Larksfield Place Independent Living Bistro. Join us for wine, hors d' oeuvres and an evening of fine art! This art guild is composed of professional and semi-professional artists from Wichita and the
surrounding communities, working in both oil and acrylic. Come and be awed by these prize-winning artists and their colorful and diverse work that celebrates this beautiful age-old medium. Gallery hours: 8AM - 8PM.

In honor of Kansas Day, our Larksfield residents have assembled an amazing display from their own collections! Resident Jan Longhofer oversees our monthly displays with resident Sue Cowdery. Sue is shown here explaining the significance of these items. Sue has had extensive experience in museum work, having had several positions as a volunteer at the Mid-America All-Indian Museum for 15 years and collection manager for WSU’s Lowell D. Holmes Museum for another 15 years, as well as teaching there. She set up the collection management program at both locations. Her interest in different cultures is due to an Anthropology degree from WSU. Thank you, Sue, for sharing your knowledge of Kansas culture with us! larksfield.org

What a great night spending time with Larksfield's own Al Higdon as he talks about the new book about him, "The Power of Two" with author John Brown at Watermark Books! And what a great turnout! Al is best known as one of Wichita's original "Mad Men," having founded Sullivan, Higdon & Sink, one of the premier advertising and public relations firms in the Midwest. Al spoke about the nine decades of his exciting life from the values he learned as an Eagle Scout to being at the heart of the worlds of Aviation and Advertising, to the civic and philanthropic service he has been involved in all his life.
Al maintains that his accomplishments have come in the course of team play, showing forth at every turn "the power of two."
As he said in a recent article in The Wichita Eagle, “I’m reminded constantly what a lucky lad I’ve been throughout my whole life to be in the right place at the right time,” Higdon said. “I’m just a blessed human being.” larksfield.org

What a great day yesterday was at Larksfield Place! We celebrated the groundbreaking of Larksfield Landing, our new Independent Living four-story, 48 apartment addition that expands on our commitment to quality senior living. Among those joining us were Wichita Mayor Lily Wu, Architect Paul Folger and our partners at Shelden Architecture, Larksfield Board of Directors Chair Connie Dietz, our partners at Dondlinger Construction and Ziegler Capital Investments and our Charter Members (future residents of the new addition.) Our own Resident Council joined them in putting shovels to the ground as well! We celebrated afterward with charcuterie, a champagne toast and comments from Mayor Wu, Connie Dietz, Larksfield CEO Mike Hambley, VP of Sales Tammy Flaming and CFO/CSO Michael Griffin. For us, this is not only celebrating the new construction – it’s also celebrating the joy and excitement we all share at about our future here at Larksfield Place! larksfield.org

Larksfield Place is excited to be partnering with on the successful closing of our bonds for our new addition, Larksfield Landing! We will officially break ground on Monday, Jan. 5th and will post pictures of the event. larksfield.org

Ziegler is pleased to announce the successful closing of Larksfield Place’s $45,205,000 Series 2025 Bonds. Located in Wichita, Kansas, Larksfield is a single-site life plan community founded in 1988 on a 67-acre campus that includes 22 independent living villas, 164 independent living apartments, 62 assisted living apartments, 10 memory care apartments, and 80 private skilled nursing suites. Larksfield is undertaking a significant campus expansion with the development of a four-story, 48-apartment independent living building known as “Larksfield Landing,” featuring under-building enclosed parking alongside additional parking across campus. Merry Christmas Eve! There has been much to celebrate during this blessed season at Larksfield Place! Parties with friends and family, enjoying good food, making crafts with the kids, pictures with Santa and going on drives to see the lights around our campus. Even a reindeer visit!
