Mother’s Day can hold a lot of different meanings 💙

For some, it’s joy. For others, it’s complicated. And for many, it’s a mix of both.

What I do know is this:
The care, strength, and tenderness that go into motherhood deserve to be supported and celebrated.

That’s a big part of why I do this work.

So this month, I wanted to give something back.

✨ Every paid session in April = 1 entry to win a FREE 60-minute massage✨️

If you win, you get to choose:
– Keep it for yourself
– OR gift it to a mother in your life who could use some care

Winner will be announced Tuesday, May 5!

EDIT:

4/9 2:00-3:30 BOOKED
4/17 12:45-2:00 BOOKED

March is coming to a close and we’re stepping into April… and somehow, this year is already flying!

April (and May) will look a little different for me. I have some family commitments along with a few exciting things happening behind the scenes, so my availability will be more limited than usual.

In fact, I only have one full week in the office this month.

To help you plan ahead, I’m sharing my full April availability now. With a lighter schedule, appointments are expected to book more quickly than usual.

🗓️ Please refer to the calendar below for available dates and times
🔗 Book your session here: https://blueheronbodywork.glossgenius.com/services

A quick scheduling note:
Each appointment includes a built-in 30-minute buffer. This allows time for checkout, proper sanitation between clients, and ensures you never feel rushed at the end of your session.

When booking, please keep in mind:
• 30-minute session = 60-minute time slot
• 60-minute session = 90-minute time slot
• 90-minute session = 120-minute time slot

For example, a one-hour opening can accommodate a 30-minute session.

Thank you so much for your continued support—I look forward to seeing you soon!

Kansas weather has been absolutely unhinged this month.

A little over a week ago we were enjoying a beautiful 75° day… the very next day it snowed and dropped to 16°. Then a few days later we somehow hit 92°. Today the high is only 57°, and we’re supposed to be back around 90° again on Wednesday.

I am officially tired of riding this weather rollercoaster. 😅

And of course, right on cue, the Bradford Pear trees decided to bloom.

I normally don’t struggle with seasonal allergies, but this year? Whew. My sinuses are fighting for their life.

So this is your friendly reminder that I offer sinus cupping for congestion relief.

You can:
• Book a quick 15-minute sinus session
• Add sinus cupping onto any massage session at no additional cost

If your head currently feels like it’s full of concrete, I’ve got you.

Confession time: I haven’t been getting my monthly maintenance massages like I should.

Instead, I’ve been doing the thing a lot of people do… pushing through the pain, pretending it’s fine, and hoping it magically goes away. Spoiler alert: it didn't 😅

Yesterday I woke up in so much pain I wasn’t even sure I’d make it through my work schedule this week. My chiropractor helped some, but the real problem was in my muscles… which is a massage therapist problem (she always jokes that she “knows a girl” for muscle issues).

The only issue? I can’t massage my own back. 🙃

Thankfully Emily—my massage therapist that I’ve been seeing for almost 10 years (long before I ever became a massage therapist myself)—texted me this morning asking if we could move my appointment from next week to today.

Immediate yes.

Y’all… I feel a million times better.
I may have some intense cupping marks, but:
1) My tension headache is gone
2) The sharp stabbing pain in my ribcage is gone
3) I can actually move my spine again (instead of being curled into a C all day)

But here’s the lesson in all of this:
Waiting until you’re in pain to get a massage is kind of like waiting until the check engine light comes on to change the oil in your car.

Maintenance is always easier than repairs.

As amazing as today’s massage was, it wasn’t a one-and-done fix because I waited so long. We made huge progress, but my muscles were so intense that we couldn’t tackle everything in one session.

So yes… even massage therapists need maintenance massages.

Consider this your friendly reminder to take care of your body before it starts yelling at you. 💙

My Birth Partner Hip Stretching Class is now open for booking!

This class is designed to prepare the hips for birth so labor can unfold more smoothly and efficiently. We focus on partner-assisted stretches that:

✨ Create more space in the pelvis
✨ Improve hip mobility
✨ Help partners feel confident and involved
✨ Support a smoother birthing process

This is not about doing complicated things during labor — it’s about preparing your body ahead of time so it can do what it was designed to do.

You don’t have to navigate birth prep alone. Your partner (spouse, bestie, co-parent, emotional support human 💙) will leave knowing exactly how to support you.

Spots are now available, and I cannot wait to start teaching this in its full form.

You know that moment when everything falls into place so perfectly you can’t deny that fate had a hand in it?

That’s exactly what working with SourBunny Studios felt like.

I sent Jansis photos and a video of me performing all 9 partner hip stretches for labor… and she turned them into something even more beautiful than what I had imagined in my head. She didn’t just see my vision — she elevated it. Every time she suggested something, my response was, “YES. Why didn’t I think of that?! Do it.”

She made this entire process effortless and even went above and beyond by creating the take-home resource guide for me.

I’m sharing 1 of the 9 illustrations so you can see just how incredible her work is. I am OBSESSED.

Be on the lookout for my new session:

Hi, I’m Chelsea — the human behind the table.

Lately, a lot of new faces have found their way here, and I want to pause for a moment and say something that feels important to name.

My work is not political — it is deeply human.
Massage, at its core, is about care, safety, and presence. And in a world that feels loud, frightening, and uncertain, I want you to know this clearly:

You are safe here.
On my table. In my space. In my care.

I stand with BIPOC communities.
I stand with immigrants.
I stand with the LGBTQ+ community.
Your fight is my fight — because your humanity is not up for debate.

There’s a phrase from Avatar that has been sitting with me lately. Instead of “I love you,” they say, “I see you.”
And that feels right.

I see your fear.
I see your anger.
I see your grief, your exhaustion, your resilience.
I see you showing up anyway.

Blue Heron Bodywork is proudly queer-owned and rooted in the belief that care does not end when the session does. My room is a place where you don’t have to explain yourself, defend yourself, or brace yourself. You get to soften. You get to exist. You get to be held — exactly as you are.

Here’s a glimpse of me, beyond the massage table.
And if you’ve found your way here recently, please know:
I see you. And you are welcome.

12/25/2025

Wishing you a season filled with love, warmth, and moments of peace.
Whether you’re celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Yule, or simply the turning of the year — may your days be gentle and your heart feel full.
From my family to yours 💙✨
