Your pelvic floor is working all day to support your core, bladder, and bowel — but some everyday habits can make its job a lot harder.

🚫 Constantly sucking in your stomach
🚫 Pushing to p*e faster
🚫 Ignoring constipation

These habits can increase pressure on your pelvic floor and contribute to symptoms like leaking, pelvic pressure, or pain.
The good news? Small changes in your daily habits can make a big difference. 💡

If you’re dealing with pelvic floor symptoms, you’re not alone — and pelvic floor physical therapy can help.

What your pelvic floor PT thinks is hard:
🏋️‍♀️ Deadlifts. Strength training. Progressive overload.

What’s actually hard:
😅 Rolling off the treatment table at 38 weeks pregnant.

Pregnancy strength hits different.
But here’s the thing — staying strong throughout your pregnancy matters. Building and maintaining strength can help with aches and pains, prepare you for labor, and support recovery postpartum. It’s not about lifting the heaviest weight in the room — it’s about moving well, feeling confident, and keeping your body supported as it changes.

A pelvic floor physical therapist can help you stay active safely, modify workouts as you grow, and keep your core and pelvic floor working with you (not against you).
Because sometimes the hardest part isn’t the lift… it’s siting-up afterward. 😉

Dana came to Physical Therapy by Phoenix after a challenging year that included three surgeries, one of them being a full meniscus repair. She has been working hard with her therapist Paula to be able to lift heavy weight with confidence in her knee and her pelvic floor.

This February, Dana didn’t just return to powerlifting, she also broke the state record and set new PRs in both bench press and deadlift!🔥

Her journey is a reminder that setbacks don’t define you, how you come back does. We’re incredibly proud to be part of Dana’s comeback story and can’t wait to see what she accomplishes next.

Help us congratulate Dana on this huge accomplishment! 👏🏽🏋️‍♀️

Two years of Pelvic Health PT by Phoenix🎉✨

For the past TWO years, we’ve had the honor of walking alongside so many incredible patients through pregnancy, postpartum recovery, pelvic pain, incontinence, and everything in between.

We are so proud of the growth of this specialty and so grateful for every patient who has trusted us with their care. Here’s to continuing to break the stigma, build strength, and support our community for many more years to come!

Thank you for being part of our journey. 💙

Your deep core is more than “abs” — it’s the foundation of your strength, stability, and pelvic health. ✨
It includes your diaphragm, transverse abdominis, multifidus, and pelvic floor, working together like a pressure canister. These muscles all coordinate together.

If this system isn’t coordinated, the pelvic floor overworks — leading to leaking, heaviness, pain, or weakness. When it functions well, everything works better. 🙌

Benefits of a strong deep core:
• Better bladder & bowel control
• Less back & hip pain
• Improved posture, balance & strength
• Reduced prolapse symptoms
• Safer return to exercise (especially postpartum)
• Better breathing & s*xual health
• More confidence in movement

Pelvic floor health isn’t just Kegels — it’s connection and coordination from the inside out. 💛

🌟 PATIENT OF THE MONTH: CHELSI 🌟

Chelsi started physical therapy early in her pregnancy when hip pain began interfering with her training. A dedicated powerlifter, she came to Physical Therapy by Phoenix with one goal: continue lifting safely. After an unexpected emergency C-section, Chelsi returned determined to rebuild, recover, and come back even stronger.

With a focus on scar care, mobility, and progressive strength training, Chelsi worked closely with her PT, Paula, to stay active, confident, and supported every step of the way — even with her baby right there cheering her on. 💛

Today, she’s back to competition training and feeling stronger than she did before pregnancy. We’re honored to be part of her journey back to doing what she loves. 💪✨

Men’s Pelvic health PT isn’t awkward. It isn’t guesswork. And it’s definitely not just “more kegels.”

It’s targeted, private, and built around what your body actually needs. If any of these symptoms hit close to home, that’s reason enough to have a conversation.

You don’t have to keep working around it.
You can come in, get clarity, and build a plan that actually moves you forward. 💪

POV: You were so nervous for pelvic floor PT… and then you ended up laughing, learning, and wondering why you didn’t start sooner 🫶

It’s completely normal to feel unsure before your first visit. You might be thinking:
• “Is this going to be awkward?”
• “Will it hurt?”
• “What even happens in pelvic floor PT?”

But here’s the truth: pelvic floor PT is education, empowerment, and a whole lot of “ohhh that makes sense now. Yes, we talk about p*e, p**p, s*x, and birth. Yes, we might assess muscles. But we also talk about breathing, lifting your kids, getting back to workouts, and feeling confident in your body again.

You deserve care that makes you feel safe, heard, and stronger — not embarrassed.

If you’ve been putting it off because you’re nervous… this is your sign 💛

If your child is struggling with things like bedwetting, constipation, accidents, or potty training, it’s easy to assume it’s “just a phase.”

Sometimes it is. And sometimes it’s a pelvic floor issue that can be addressed with the right support.

Pediatric pelvic therapy is gentle, play-based, and age-appropriate. Parents are involved the entire time, and the goal is always the same: helping kids feel comfortable, confident, and supported as their bodies grow. 💙
