Our Corterra of Wichita team had the privilege of celebrating Maria Garcia-Villa for Healthcare HR week last week. Maria joined our team last year and has done an amazing job serving our team members and our hospital.

She recently received her master's degree in aging studies and certification in healthcare leadership and is working on her second master's in human resources.

With March being Social Worker month, we wanted to send out a special recognition to our amazing Catrina Butler, LMSW.

Catrina does a wonderful job serving our patients and ensuring they have smooth, rewarding transition through our hospital.

She works everyday with our patients, families, guardians, healthcare partners and our team to ensure our patients receive the best care anywhere.

We are so proud to share that we have started off the new year with a bang! We recently completed our annual accreditation survey and due to our exceptional team, we passed with flying colors! Our results, compared with similar hospitals across the country, were in the upper echelon of survey results! Only citing a few minor nonconformities, our survey team left with glowing praise of our team, our program and the great work we do each day at Corterra of Wichita.

This is just one of hundreds of examples of the work our team does each day to support seniors experiencing a mental health crisis. After some time in our hospital, a patient of ours discharged back to their community and left after sending this message to our team.

"Thanks to all of you for helping me deal with the loss of my mother. You all are super in my book, the way you all work together as a team is great!

Thank you for working with me to try and get my medications right, you have a very hard jobs, but you all do it with a lot of compassion and caring.

Thank you! I hope, if I have to go somewhere to get better again, I hope it will be here. Wishing you all the best in life and as the song goes, "I'm not okay, but it will be alright".
