This little stretch of warm weather feels like a reminder to check in with ourselves ā˜€ļø

Getting outside even for 10 or 15 minutes can seriously help your mental health. Fresh air, sunlight, a short walk. No intense workout needed. Just step outside, breathe and enjoy the sunshine.

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or just ā€œoff,ā€ try changing your environment for a bit. Let the sun hit your face. Notice the sounds around you, notice the grass, the trees or animals. Notice the cars or houses that may be around you. Give your mind a break from screens and to-do lists.
Sometimes the simplest things make the biggest difference. šŸ’›

Taking care of yourself is not a luxury, it’s a necessity.

In a world that constantly pushes us to do more, give more, and be more, self-care can easily fall to the bottom of our priority list. But when we neglect ourselves for too long, it shows up as burnout, irritability, exhaustion, and just overall unhappiness.

Things that can be self care for you:

• Saying no when you need to
• Getting enough rest
• Moving your body in ways that feel good
• Making space for quiet
• Reaching out for support
• Protecting your time and energy

You are allowed to prioritize your well-being. In fact, it’s one of the healthiest things you can do.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed or stretched thin, therapy can help you recreate balance in your life and help you reconnect with what truly makes you the happiest version of yourself.

If this season brings stress, sadness, grief, or just feels heavy, your feelings are valid. There’s no right way to experience the holidays, and you don’t owe anyone excitement or cheer.
If you’ve been thinking about starting therapy, or feel like you could use extra support during this time, I’m here and currently scheduling new appointments. You don’t have to navigate it alone. šŸ¤
Feel free to reach out if you’re interested or have questions.

The holidays aren’t always the ā€œmost wonderful time of the year.ā€ Sometimes they bring up sadness, stress, or memories that feel heavier than the celebrations around us. šŸŽ„šŸ’”
If this season feels a little different for you, you’re not alone. Not everyone is walking into the holidays with joy, and that’s okay.

Here’s to giving ourselves grace, slowing down when we need to, and remembering that whatever your feelings may be, they are valid. If this season is tough for you, I’m sending positive vibes your way. ā¤ļø

Please know this: you don’t have to sit with it by yourself. If you’re struggling or just need someone to talk to feel free to reach out. I always strive to create a safe environment to express yourself.

I’m so happy to announce that I have the opportunity to co teach a DBT group for adolescents through the DBT center with my colleague Donnie! If you know of any teens that might benefit from a group please feel free to reach out. drlatuch@kmhp.ofwichita.org.

Keep in mind that all classes must be attended by a parent/guardian, as well.

I’ve been diving deeper into Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) lately within my new practice, and I have been able to apply what I have learned with my clients more often.

Excited to continue applying these skills in my work and supporting clients!

Just completed Phase One of Brainspotting training! 🧠✨
It was an intense and powerful experience—deeply emotional, incredibly eye-opening, and full of growth. I learned so much about how the brain holds trauma and how we can access healing in non-verbal ways. It was definitely a learning curve considering it is such a different modality than what I’m used to using with my clients.

I'm feeling inspired and energized to begin integrating this new tool into my work with clients. This is just the beginning, but it’s already shifting the way I see healing and transformation. I can’t wait to see what the other phases have in store for me.
