I am sharing a bit about my private practice.

As a therapist I am always learning. I just finished taking an ADHD Certification course. I have also started reading this Brainspotting Book. If have taken the training, been practicing it, and I am learning even more reading this book. I am now paneled with Blue Cross Blue Shield and take state insurance and ambetter as well. Cigna and Optum credentialed as well. I am available in person Tuesday through Friday and telehealth Monday through Friday. I am trained in EMDR amd Brainspotting and use mindfulness based guided imagery and Somatic exercises. In all my trainings for depression, anxiety, PTSD, and grief there is a common theme that helps...shifting your thinking. If you're struggling, try to find just one thing that brings you joy or one thing that you're thankful for. Our minds are not wired for happiness genetically, they are wired for survival. Therefore, we are all born with a negativity bias. In order to transform this we have to shift our focus to something positive and really we need five positives for every one negative. What is one thing you are thankful for or one thing that brings you joy?

Does your anxiety get the best of you sometimes? I know some amazing techniques both with Somatic and Brainspotting that can help you conquer your anxiety. One trick I like to use is spelling my name backwards three times. This is a distraction technique that allows for one to stop the flow of their thoughts in order to reinsert a more positive thought. My favorite is "I'm going thr best I can under the circumstances."

Greetings! Today's card is the heirophant. The Heirophant speaks to ritual and conformity. Going against the grain has its place but sometimes you have to abide by certain principles. This is the time to conform. Ritual helps bring balance and consistency. What small rituals can you add to your life to improve it?

Today's card of the day comes from the Black Tarot. This is the hermit. The hermit is ever the seeker of knowledge. Even though he has a lot of knowledge, there is always more to learn. Just as the student learns from the teacher, the teacher learns from the student. Be open to learning and growing. The hermit for me also speaks to retreat and repose, allowing yourself to rest.
