"Built Different" is the theme of our current ad campaign, and it is affirmed every day through the actions of our dedicated employees. It's in the quiet moments nobody sees, spent listening, helping, supporting. It's the fast pace of a day while they walk to and from programs checking urgent messages about the people they support. It's the dinner they prepare, the words of welcome they offer and the hugs they give. They understand the privilege of knowing the people we serve.

Each October, you will see Knights of Columbus members in their signature yellow vests at local stores, accepting charitable donations in exchange for a Tootsie Roll treat. The councils' charitable focus is on individuals who have intellectual and developmental disabilities. In the Wichita area, Knights of Columbus councils have made a huge impact at Starkey - their contributions have funded accessible buses, furniture, program supplies and more over the last 35 years. THANK YOU for your enduring generosity!

When this group of friends wanted to relax last week with hot tea, lattes and cookies, they stopped in at a local favorite, Sunflour Cafe & Collective. Keneth got to read his copy of The Wichita Eagle while Anya, Cassie, Brandi and Andrew played games and shopped.

At the Great Plains Nature Center, we get to learn about the ecosystems and wildlife of the Great Plains, which includes Kansas, Nebraska, and North and South Dakota, as well as parts of other states. This local center also has beautiful outdoor walking paths, so we get a few steps in there as well.

It's time for a 2025 retrospective! ⏳ During the past year, we created, appreciated, watched parades, cooked, volunteered, rode horses, fed llamas, took in galleries and ballgames, harvested vegetables, stopped for ice cream (essential) and worked at our jobs. We lived full lives and look forward to the same in 2026! 🌟

So many of you helped make the holidays bright this year - thank you! ✨

There were 118 angels adopted this year from our Angel Tree. Of those, 28 were adopted by Starkey board members, 20 were adopted by University Congregational Church, 18 were adopted by Southwest National Bank, 15 were adopted by the Joe Hull Scholarship Fund at Wichita State University and another 15 were adopted by Cargill. The rest were adopted by other generous individuals and families.

We cannot thank you enough for putting smiles on the faces of the individuals we serve! 💝
