Let’s be honest… a lot of us turn bathroom time into scrolling time. But sitting too long on the toilet increases pressure in the re**al area — and that’s one of the biggest contributors to hemorrhoids.

Common Reasons People Get Hemorrhoids:
➡️ Straining during bowel movements
➡️ Sitting on the toilet too long
➡️ Chronic constipation
➡️ Low-fiber diets
➡️ Pregnancy
➡️ Heavy lifting
➡️ Not drinking enough water

Here are a few ways to protect your bottom health:
💧 Drink more water to keep things moving
🥗 Add fiber to your meals
🚶🏽‍♀️ Stay active — movement helps digestion
⏱ Limit bathroom time (no full TikTok episodes on the toilet!)

If you’re dealing with pain, swelling, itching, or bleeding, start with your primary care provider. They can help evaluate what’s really going on and refer you to a colore**al specialist if needed.

Memorial offers comprehensive colore**al care with our expert team — including Dr. Joshua Tyler.

Dr. Tyler specializes in minimally invasive techniques and advanced treatment options. Learn more about Dr. Tyler ➝ wearememorial.com/team/joshua-tyler-md

“When I was first brought into the hospital, I had maggots falling out of my leg and foot. I freaked everyone out and no one wanted to deal with me. When they took me up to my room it was like the smell and the way my leg looked didn’t even faze her – it was like she didn’t even notice it. She made me feel like a person that mattered. When they wanted to amputate my leg, I lost it. I had the worst panic attack, and she was there to help. She has never let me go when I was hurting. I have never seen a nurse go above and beyond like she has. I don’t know of anyone who deserves this award more than she does.”

Thank you, Miesha, for the exceptional care you provide our community!
