The United Way of Wyoming Valley will kick off its 2025 Campaign on September 17. As a campaign sponsor and recipient of its generous funding to serve our community, Children's Service Center and its adult care affiliate, Robinson Counseling Center, collaborate to align with its the mission of helping children and families move from poverty to possibility. Our Tunkhannock Blended Case Management and Psychiatric Rehabilitation teams really know how to throw a party! Last week in Wyoming County, they hosted more than 150 clients and their families at a carnival that featured a bounce house, games, prizes, food, magic tricks, and face painting. Despite the hot, humid weather, the vibe was cool and refreshing! We truly appreciate our staff for their amazing efforts to make life better for our clients, who are improving their health and well-being thanks to the collaboration of these dedicated professionals.

Children’s Service Center is scheduled to open integrated mental health and primary care in Wyoming County later this year, thanks to M&T Bank’s generous donation to renovate its longstanding location at 133 W. Tioga Ave, Tunkhannock. M&T Bank supported the project with a $20,000 donation through the 2023-24 Neighborhood Assistance Program of the Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development, which provides tax credits for eligible businesses on DCED-approved projects. The newly renovated first floor will house the second location for CSC’s Conyngham Primary Health Care Center along with mental health programs for all ages. Conyngham Primary Health Care Center opened in Wilkes-Barre in 2022 to complement mental health services and offer more comprehensive care for people of all ages, and recently earned designation from the Health Resources and Services Administration as a Federally Qualified Health Center, Look Alike, to better reach underserved communities. Pictured at left are Mike Hopkins, recently retired CSC President/CEO; M&T Bank’s Sarah Burnett, Assistant Vice President and Program Officer, and Gail D'Angelo, Senior Vice President & Regional CRA Manager, and newly appointed CSC President and CEO Christopher Boyle. CSC’s Tunkhannock office provides mental health and substance use disorder services to more than 1,200 residents of Wyoming County and surrounding communities each year.

CIP Rehabilitation is giving back! The outpatient company for physical, occupational and speech therapy in Dallas, Kingston, and Tunkhannock held a two-month collection drive to benefit clients served by Children's Service Center and Robinson Counseling Center. CIP's Elisabeth Azarewicz and Jamie Horowitz (front row from left) delivered the treasure trove of household supplies, cleaning products, and personal care items to our team (back row from left), Mara DeQuevedo and Patricia Roper of Blended Case Management, and Christopher Boyle, CSC President and CEO. Jude Carter and Jennifer Smith, Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program, were selected to participate in the training videos for The Power of Dependable Souls (PODS) following their successful implementation of the program at CSC/RCC. Our team joined PODS as a pilot program started by Temple University three years ago to offer clients opportunities to pursue common interests, build friendships, and reach goals that support mental health and independence. We’re so proud of your success, teamwork, and dedication to helping clients!
