The Christine Center

The Christine Center The Christine Center is a spirituality center offering solo and group retreats in a wooded sanctuary. The Christine Center was established in the lineage of St.
(1)

Francis and St. Clare of Assisi, and embraces persons of all spiritual paths. Organizations, individuals, groups, teachers, and students are invited to share the energy of this sacred space. The Center offers lodging and meals for individual retreats, group retreats, seminars and sabbatical stays. You’re also welcome to have your day meeting or overnight gathering of your small faith community, hospital, church, educational or management group at the Center. Situated in a tranquil forest setting with guest house, hermitages (small cabins), and camping on 125 secluded acres, the Christine Center has served the spiritual needs of thousands of people from all over the world for almost thirty years. You’re invited to partake of its silence and beauty, and to participate in its opportunities for personal spiritual deepening and global transformation. Spiritual seekers are drawn to The Christine Center by the activities of a vibrant community, prayer, contemplation and work. The Center offers retreats on spirituality, transformational change and inner development. It hosts a diverse and wide range of workshops and retreat programs. As a Catholic retreat center, it welcomes opportunities to engage in dialogue with teachers and seekers of many spiritual paths. The Center also offers services such as spiritual guidance, bodywork, and recreational activities which can supplement your reflection and relaxation. A supportive, natural environment provides you with the ambience for a contemplative practice, creativity, or nurturing the Spirit within. Many come to explore inner awakening, holistic living and honesty in relationships. Out of this energy the Christine Center offers its signature program “Spiritual Deepening for Global Transformation.”

A soft wintry view from inside one of our wayside chapels.✨

These one-person chapels are nestled along our woodland walking paths, a quiet place to pause with the trees and your own heart. Inside you’ll find a bench, meditation cushion, prayer beads, holy water, a guest journal, and more.

This particular chapel is dedicated to Sister Henrita and includes an image of Our Lady, Undoer of Knots – a tender reminder that the tangles of our lives can be held in mercy and slowly loosened in prayer.

If your spirit is longing for a sacred, quiet space to breathe and listen, you’re always welcome to come walk, sit, and rest here with us.

The Enneagram is often described as a map of nine core patterns of personality – nine ways we’ve learned to navigate the world, seek love, and stay safe.

Rather than putting us in boxes, it can help us see the box we’re already in: our habits of mind, heart, and behavior that once protected us but may now keep us from living with more freedom and compassion.

Working with the Enneagram invites:

•greater honesty about our automatic reactions
•tenderness toward our own younger strategies for coping
•deeper empathy for the very different ways others experience life

If you'd like to explore the Enneagram, we’re grateful to be hosting an Enneagram Wisdom retreat this upcoming weekend that will show you how to use this tool as a way to deepen intimacy with your spritual path.

There's still a few days left to register and we'd love to have you!

All gender identities and expressions welcome, including those who are exploring, questioning, or in transition. You will be met with care, respect, and kindness throughout the weekend.

Today, on Ash Wednesday, many receive a cross of ashes as a reminder of two truths held together: we are dust, and we are deeply loved.

The season of Lent invites a slower, quieter turning – away from what numbs us and back toward mercy, honesty, and compassion. It is a time to remember our impermanence without fear, and to let that remembrance soften our hearts toward ourselves and the world.

As you move through this day, you might gently wonder:
What have I been using to numb or distract myself, and how might I instead return toward the quiet, merciful truth within me?”

Enneagram Wisdom: Deepening Intimacy with Your Spiritual Path

February 27 - March 1, 2026

In this retreat, the Enneagram is offered not as a label, but as a wisdom tradition that helps you understand how you experience life – your inner lens for meaning-making, relationship, and response.

As you begin to notice that lens with compassion, familiar patterns can soften, and new freedom can emerge. You’ll be invited into a more honest, prayerful self-understanding – one that enriches daily life and draws you closer to the most sacred aspects of your being.

If you have any questions about what to expect, or need help registering, please don't wait to reach out. We would love to have you join us.

What happens when we make room to speak honestly about death? Often, a deeper connection to life.

On Thursday, February 19, our monthly online Death Café offers a gentle space to reflect on end-of-life questions in community. We begin with a short meditation and reading, then move into open conversation where personal stories, questions, and wonderings are welcome.

The gathering is free (donations appreciated) and meets on Zoom the third Thursday of each month from 7:00–8:30 pm CST.

Tonight on Maha Shivaratri, many keep vigil through the night, honoring the presence that dissolves what is finished and clears the way for new life.

May this night of spiritual awakening and transformation invite you to lay down what no longer serves you and rest in the quiet presence of the Divine within.✨

Today many observe Parinirvana Day, remembering the Buddha’s passing into complete peace.

We pause to honor all teachers and loved ones who have journeyed beyond this life, and the wisdom they leave with us.

May this day call us to live awake – less caught in clinging, more rooted in compassion.

At the Christine Center, we welcome you as you are. You are invited to bring your whole self – your questions, your story, your becoming – into a contemplative space where we welcome you with care and respect. Here, there is room to exhale.

We trust that healing, wholeness, and spiritual unfolding deepen when every part of our lived experience is given space to breathe, to be witnessed, and to be held in community. In that spirit, we are honored to offer Embracing Our Sacred Gender Journeys.
