The Christine Center The Christine Center is a spirituality center offering solo and group retreats in a wooded sanctuary. The Christine Center was established in the lineage of St.
(1)

Francis and St. Clare of Assisi, and embraces persons of all spiritual paths. Organizations, individuals, groups, teachers, and students are invited to share the energy of this sacred space. The Center offers lodging and meals for individual retreats, group retreats, seminars and sabbatical stays. You’re also welcome to have your day meeting or overnight gathering of your small faith community, hospital, church, educational or management group at the Center. Situated in a tranquil forest setting with guest house, hermitages (small cabins), and camping on 125 secluded acres, the Christine Center has served the spiritual needs of thousands of people from all over the world for almost thirty years. You’re invited to partake of its silence and beauty, and to participate in its opportunities for personal spiritual deepening and global transformation. Spiritual seekers are drawn to The Christine Center by the activities of a vibrant community, prayer, contemplation and work. The Center offers retreats on spirituality, transformational change and inner development. It hosts a diverse and wide range of workshops and retreat programs. As a Catholic retreat center, it welcomes opportunities to engage in dialogue with teachers and seekers of many spiritual paths. The Center also offers services such as spiritual guidance, bodywork, and recreational activities which can supplement your reflection and relaxation. A supportive, natural environment provides you with the ambience for a contemplative practice, creativity, or nurturing the Spirit within. Many come to explore inner awakening, holistic living and honesty in relationships. Out of this energy the Christine Center offers its signature program “Spiritual Deepening for Global Transformation.”

The word 'Halloween' comes from "All Hallows' Eve", being the evening before the Christian holy days of All Hallows' Day (All Saints' Day) on November 1st and All Souls' Day on November 2nd. At the Christine Center campus tonight as we celebrate 45 years, we’ll hold a candlelight circle honoring the ancestors and all who have shaped this place, with a blessing under the All Hallows’ Eve sky. Please join us with your thoughts and prayers today and every day, as together we keep the fires of transformation going at this sacred site.

The first frost used to come in September, probably mid to late September. Here we are at the end of October, and the roses on the patio are still alive and full of color. A bit bedraggled perhaps, but they survived a hard frost earlier in the week that killed most plants in the area. These happened to be snuggled up close to the main building. The life force is strong, beauty thrives, even in harsh conditions sometimes.

The Christine Center is 45 years old! October of 1980 is when it all began. This weekend there will be celebrations on campus, please come and help us beat the drums of joy and creation! We’ll begin Friday evening with a candlelight circle, honoring the ancestors and all who have shaped this place with a blessing under the All Hallows’ Eve sky. Saturday will open as a sacred day of community, woven with song, Dances of Universal Peace, and ceremony. In the art studio, a creative mask-making experience will invite us to explore the many faces of transformation; the masks may be worn later that evening in a circle of celebration. Throughout the weekend, time for silence, land connection, and spiritual practice will invite you deeper into the Center’s living tradition. Prayer Flags - They adorn much of the trail now know as the Memorial Trail, located behind Mary's Villa. It is also the home of the Memorial Shrine where we held a drumming circle in honor of Sr Gabe on the Sunday morning of her remembrance weekend. Have you walked the trail yet? It is truly beautiful this time of year.

A one day online Introduction to the Deep Wisdom of The Tao Te Ching - Oct 25th, 2025 with Ron Moor. Here lies an ancient wisdom of living that is deeply relevant for our time. The Tao Te Ching. Lovingly, reverently passed from generation to generation for 2,500 years, it comes to us as a gift from our ancestors. Give yourself a gift that can help you see with a new perspective and that can open you to a source of solace and strength in our time of challenge. Tao is not a religion, it is a profound wisdom of living that asks us to let go of our conditioning and live in harmony with all creation. In partnership with the Personal Development Center, Christine Center of Marshfield, staff and volunteers gathered in purple for a reflection ritual to honor those impacted by domestic violence and to raise awareness during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Nestled in Wisconsin’s north woods, the Christine Center offers contemplative support to persons of all spiritual paths in a natural woodland sanctuary. Guided by our vision of spiritual deepening for global transformation, we hold space with awareness and love for all who have been touched by violence.💜

This amazing mural which is about 4 X 6 feet in size, was created by anyone who showed up, on the wall of the Art Center last weekend as we remembered and celebrated and mourned Sr. Gabriele Uhlein. She inspired us to create with a sense of "no judgement", freedom and open-ness to our deeper selves. Here's how she describes the way it works: "Our spiritual practice deepens as we cultivate our essential connections: with our inner self, with our Earth environment, with the power of our intuition and physical senses, and ultimately, the transformative energy of our natural creativity."
