What is Gland Expression?
👀Most dry eye is caused by a lack of oil, not a lack of tears. Your Meibomian glands (located in your eyelids) produce meibum, an oil that prevents your tears from evaporating. When this oil thickens— think butter vs. olive oil — the glands get blocked.

👀Dr. Procaccini just performed this gland express on one of our patients after a recent IPL treatment session. Doctor likes to do this treatment right after an IPL or Red light session so the glands are heated up. Schedule your appointment today!
