We can often be so focused on what we don’t have, we forget to appreciate and feel grateful for what we already have and the enormous amount of benefit we receive from others.
In this special Thanksgiving day talk we will explore living with an awareness of the kindness of others, through which we can maintain a warm heart, a feeling of being close to others and a deeper appreciation for what we have. Stay for a Thanksgiving meal afterwards if you like.

Heart Jewel is an amazing practice that anyone can learn. By becoming familiar with this practice you will have the tools to engage in peaceful and meaningful meditations each day. This is a special method for receiving spiritual attainments through receiving the blessings of all the Buddhas through our spiritual guide in the aspect of Je Tsongkhapa. It also contains the very precious ancient prayers to the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden, who protects us and removes obstacles to our progressing along the path to enlightenment. Everyone welcome, no experience needed. Please register: https://meditationinnorthernarizona.org/event/2025-heart-jewel-retreat/

Our Story

The International Kadampa Retreat Center Grand Canyon (IKRC) is part of the New Kadampa Tradition (NKT) founded by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. Our community is an international spiritual community dedicated to achieving world peace through following the Buddhist path. We are currently constructing a traditional Buddhist temple for World Peace which everyone is welcome to enjoy. Whatever the reason for visiting, Geshe-la has said that anyone who sees a Temple or the holy objects within will receive a special blessing that sows a seed of future peace and happiness in their mind.
