We are excited to announce that our team is now offering ADOS-2 testing, the gold-standard tool for clinically diagnosing autism spectrum disorder.

We saw that this was a real area of need in our community, and we wanted to step up and provide families with access to high-quality, collaborative evaluations.

The ADOS-2 provides valuable insights into: communication & language skills, social interaction, play & imagination, and everyday behavior.

With the combined expertise of both an SLP and OT, families receive a comprehensive evaluation that looks at the whole child.

Here’s a fun summer themed craft, which can easily be adapted to work with a wide range of ages and abilities. Good opportunities to work on handwriting a list of materials needed, using a ruler as a guide for stripes, weaving red/white stripes together, executive functioning skills, and creative thinking. I love the creativity this 10 year old added instead of using ants. If you couldn’t guess….this is a Dinobee eating a Meganeura! -Steph

This is my summer sensory bin (keeping on my picnic theme and this is a popular one with the kiddos). There are so many sensory and fine motor activities in this bin as well as some visual tasks. I like to have a range of tools in my sensory bins so kids can use different muscles and hand positions to manipulate objects in the bins. Here are the ways kids can interact with this bin: use tools to pick up the ants with tongs/count them out/match the number of ants to the small container with number lid, use shovels/tools/sifter to find the ants/picnic foods, feel the texture of the sand just by digging through it, or use the small picnic table cards to answer some visual orientation/visual spatial questions. There are ways for kids to get creative and come up with their own ideas as well. Don’t forget the hand sanitizer first! -Steph
