Speaking up or asking someone else to help, is like turning on a light in a room that’s dark. No need to tiptoe around behavior that is controlling or hurting another, if we shed some light on it. 🤍

Silence gives harm room to grow. But when we speak up, we protect people, not problems. 💚
It doesn’t have to be loud or dramatic — sometimes it’s as simple as, “Hey, are you okay?” or “That’s not cool.”

👉 Small words, big difference.

Self-awareness isn’t limited to thoughts and feelings. Sometimes understanding what’s happening in your physical body will give you insight to some of your thoughts and feelings, especially if we feel too busy or distracted to notice.

For instance, how well can you think if you’re hungry? And how frustrating is it when you can’t think straight? What’s going on physically affects us mentally, and vice versa. Or, have you noticed your body feels tense when your thoughts are stressed?

I invite you try noticing what’s happening in your body today, and any thoughts that go with it.

What are some lesser known ways your mind or body communicates to you that you are in a heightened stress state?

A couple for me are 1, increased activity like compulsive cleaning, or restlessness, or 2, a strong desire to create or work with my hands during a time when that’s not the best use of my time.

Need more energy?? I do!! Have you checked in with your breathing lately? Make it a habit to check your breath fullness. Winter is often one reason we are less active, and get less movement in our bodies. We tend to be a little more sedentary and more shallow with our breathing. This leads to less oxygen coming into our bodies, and less oxygen, means less energy.
