Through the 1970s, ambulances often served double duty as hearses until legislation restricted it. A few cities experimented with trolley or subway car hearses for the transportation of bodies, but the practice never caught on. Today in the US most hearses are luxury cars like Cadillac, Lincoln, or Mercedes that are hand-crafted by companies that take the bodies of existing cars and customize them to be longer with special mechanisms.

🥀 It is with profound sorrow that we bid farewell to John Kinsel Sr., one of the last surviving Navajo Code Talkers, who passed at the age of 107. With him goes a living chapter of history, written not in ink, but in courage, sacrifice, and an unbreakable sense of duty.🇺🇸

From 1942 to 1946, across the brutal battlefields of Bougainville, Guam, and Iwo Jima, John Kinsel Sr. spoke a sacred language turned into an unbreakable code — a voice the enemy could never decipher. His words carried commands, saved lives, and helped turn the tide of war. In moments where seconds meant survival, his voice stood as a shield for countless Marines.

He fought not for recognition, but for his people, his country, and the generations yet to come. Though his voice is now silent, its impact will echo forever. His legacy is immortal, carried forward in history, honor, and remembrance.

🕊️🇺🇸 Rest in peace, warrior. Your memory will outlive generations.

We share with profound sorrow the passing of World War II veteran Stan Nelson of Anoka, Minnesota, who left us on November 20, 2025, at the age of 105. A hero in every sense, his courage was forged on the violent waters of the English Channel.

As a Lieutenant (j.g.) and Communications Officer aboard LCI-492, Stan rode in the first wave on D-Day, steering his landing craft again and again into the inferno of Omaha Beach. With every run, he carried soldiers toward history—drawing enemy fire away from them, risking his own life so others might reach the shore.

He did not just witness history.
He helped shape it.

Rest in peace, Stan Nelson. Your courage endures. 🕊️🇺🇸

Family Mausoleum: Serves to preserve the memory of individuals but also their extended family as well.
Public Mausoleums: Sometimes called ‘community mausoleums,’ these public types of mausoleums offer a cost-sharing benefit over family mausoleums.
Columbarium: A free-standing structure in a cemetery that provides wall spaces for cremated remains. The wall spaces are called “niches,” each of which holds an urn containing cremains.
Lawn Crypts: Underground mausoleums that have vaults that hold pre-installed caskets.
Sarcophagus: These types of mausoleums are half underground and half above ground. There are typically no doors or windows. It holds the burials in a concrete structure that’s below ground, with just one crypt that’s visible above ground.
Garden Mausoleums: These are unique in that they are not free-standing buildings, but still offer crypts and columbariums for caskets and urns. Many often include glass windows, statues, or other works of art.

"Grief is not a disorder, a disease or a sign of weakness. It is an emotional, physical and spiritual necessity, the price you pay for love. The only cure for grief is to grieve." - Earl Grollman
