Our Literacy Program with Pi Beta Phi at the College of William & Mary wrapped up in November for the Fall 2025 semester and as always was an inc-"READ"-able time! We thank all the tutors and volunteers who make this program possible by promoting literacy and community through literacy-related games and activities. This program is part of The Arc's Lifelong Learning programming and our longtime partnership with Pi Beta Phi is a favorite for many.

Last night was our Third Annual performance by to kick off the holiday season! It has become a tradition each December to welcome them and hear their beautiful renditions of holiday classics. We thank them for sharing their time and talents with us! 💙❄️

This Giving Tuesday, we reflect on how the generosity of The Arc's network has carried us through an amazing 49th year. As we prepare to celebrate our 50th anniversary as an organization in 2026, we have so many exciting things ahead, especially with our recent purchase of The Arc's new home in McLaws Circle.

APEX Physical Therapy & Movement Center is a friend to The Arc and Arc of Abilities (AoA) in many ways - from being a 5k sponsor to hosting AoA and collecting food to benefit The Arc's Fall Food Drive. Last week, AoA stopped by to pick up donations thanks to the incredible team at APEX and their clients. They collected over 160 pounds of nonperishable goods that were delivered to our friends at Grove Christian Outreach Center.

A special thanks to Kelly, Scott, Bret, and the entire APEX team, along with patients and Rock Steady boxers for designating your collections to The Arc's Fall Food Drive! Our food drive ends TODAY, and we're grateful to United Way of the Virginia Peninsula for leading the charge to all be a part of feeding our neighbors.

In conjunction with the WJCC Schools Special Education program team, Arc Executive Director Pam McGregor attended and presented at the Virginia School Boards Association Conference in Williamsburg earlier this month.

Their presentation was titled Building Bridges: A Story of Student, Family, Division, and Community Partnerships for Students with Disabilities." We thank all involved for this important opportunity to advocate for students with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities throughout their time in the public school special education system and beyond.

We'd like to recognize and thank Arc board member and Orangetheory Coach Jasmine Perkins as well as Studio Owner Chelsea Fischer for planning and hosting a fundraiser weekend for The Arc from November 21-23. From fundraising throughout the weekend to hosting a community pop-up class, we are grateful for Orangetheory Fitness Williamsburg's generosity and for building awareness to support The Arc's mission. The Arc thanks Wendy and the team at Coleman Nursery and Farmer's Market for their generosity in once again hosting a month-long Fall fundraiser for The Arc. They raffled off a delightful Halloween-themed fairy garden at the end of October in support of The Arc and collected donations all month long. We thank them for their continued support. Be sure to stop by to see their gorgeous selection of holiday plants!

Excited to spread the season of giving to support The Arc of Greater Williamsburg this weekend, November 21-23!

The Arc is a nonprofit that serves adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities once they age out of public school at 22.

Every donation helps The Arc continue offering essential programs.. things like health and wellness, education, life skills, and daily social support.

The Arc of Greater Williamsburg is proud to share the exciting news that we have officially purchased our new building in McLaws Circle. Our Capital Campaign, “From Vision to Reality – A Homecoming 50 Years in the Making,” launched this past August, has been incredibly successful thanks to the remarkable generosity of our friends, supporters, and community partners. While we continue to work toward our full $2.5 million goal, your support has allowed us to take this significant step forward.

Our network has shown up for us in so many meaningful ways, helping us make real progress toward a home that will serve our Arc family for decades to come.

A special announcement—along with details about our ribbon-cutting ceremony and official opening—is coming soon. In the meantime, and in a spirit of deep gratitude, we are delighted to share this milestone with the community that has rallied around our mission to celebrate and champion the potential of every individual we serve, now and into the future.

The Arc's food drive in support of United Way of the Virginia Peninsula's Call to Action continues on through December 1st. Over the last two weeks, over 250 pounds of food was donated to Grove Christian Outreach Center by members of our Arc of Abilities (AoA) Day Program. AoA members volunteer at Grove weekly and we are thrilled to play a small role in helping them feed neighbors.

We are proud to share that The Arc of Greater Williamsburg's Executive Director, Pam McGregor, was the 2025 recipient of the National Conference of Executives Chairperson's Award. Pam was awarded at The Arc of the United States' National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina, surrounded by leaders from other Arc chapters around the country.

As stated by presenter Jean Phelps, "Pam embodies the very best of The Arc and the NCE - visionary yet grounded, determined yet compassionate, a leader who uplifts others and makes an outsized impact through heart and perseverance."

From Board President Sue Hassan: "On behalf of the The Arc of Greater Williamsburg Board of Directors, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Pam on receiving the 2025 Chairperson's Award from the National Conference of Executives of The Arc.
