Here’s what nobody’s saying: We’re solving climate wrong.

Everyone’s obsessed with building new infrastructure, more EVs, more charging stations, more batteries.

But we’re ignoring the 3 Gt elephant in the room. 🐘

3 Gt of CO₂ every year. That’s 6% of global emissions. From trips between 3-8 miles. 🚗

And here’s what makes this different: these trips are predictable. Everyone makes them. 2x/day, 5x/week. Regular commutes, school runs, errands.

Here’s what most climate investors ask me: “Why bikes? Why not focus on EVs?”

Because the math says otherwise:
→ 372 kg CO₂e saved per bike conversion
→ 93% reduction vs driving 📉
→ 10M conversions = 800,000 cars removed 🌍

1 billion bikes already exist globally. not used as much as they could be. 🚲

Converting them requires 75% less manufacturing emissions than building e-bikes, and ships 40X more efficiently. We don’t have an innovation problem. We have an activation problem. ⚡

The fastest climate solution isn’t building more. It’s using what we already have.

That’s why CLIP exists. Not to replace cars everywhere—but to eliminate the trips where cars never made sense. ✨

We’re looking for commuters who bike to Governors Island or Brooklyn Army Terminal at least 2x/week to join our 4-week pilot in November.
