We offer both hot and non-heated classes in a variety of styles everyday, so you’re sure to find a class to meet your needs. At Body Balance Yoga & Fitness in Williamsburg, VA, we believe in the essential goodness of people and the power of yoga to improve lives. Since 2005, we’ve offered a compassionate, inclusive environment in service of all those who wish to practice yoga. Body Balance Yoga & Fitness is different from other yoga centers. We’re the only yoga center in town that offers both hot and non-heated classes. We know hot yoga is great, but it isn’t for everyone. We offer a wide variety of classes and instructors to meet your individual needs and preferences. Regardless of whether you’re brand new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner, you are welcome here. We are also dedicated to providing thoughtful, alignment-based instruction that will leave you feeling better than you did when you walked in. Learning happens through direct experience — something yoga offers every time we step onto the mat.

In yoga, you can read about alignment, listen to a teacher explain pranayama, or watch a video on meditation — but until you actually move through the poses, feel the breath in your own body, and experience stillness for yourself, the knowledge stays in your head rather than your heart.

The magic of yoga is that it invites us not just to be told or shown, but to be fully involved — mind, body, and spirit — so the lessons become part of who we are.

Body Balance is turning 20!

With thousands of yogis having crossed our threshold, this sacred space continues to evolve—always rooted in community, growth, and healing. Join us as we celebrate two decades of connection, transformation, and yoga.

We’re marking the occasion with a birthday celebration—cake, light refreshments, and time to connect with the community that makes Body Balance so special. A photographer will be capturing moments throughout the event, and we’d love to gather everyone for a group photo—wear your Body Balance T-shirts!

Yes, we are open on the 4th for an abbreviated schedule. Join us for two special classes to celebrate freedom through movement and breath.

At 8AM, Lisa Cleckley will guide a Hot 26 class—an energizing set sequence practiced in a heated room to build strength, focus, and flexibility.

Then at 10AM, Jenn Smith will lead a Freedom Flow, a creative vinyasa practice paired with breathwork and meditation to inspire ease, release, and inner liberation.

The longest day of the year is almost here. Lets celebrate with a sacred tradition: 108 Sun Salutations. This moving meditation honors the Sun’s energy and invites clarity, strength, and renewal.

The number 108 holds deep meaning across yoga, Ayurveda, and astronomy—and this ritual challenges body, mind, and spirit in the best way.

Modifications will be offered, and the practice will be guided step-by-step so that even if you’ve never done 108 before, you’ll feel supported, successful, and empowered throughout. Led by Amanda Jackson.

As we shift into our summer season, we’ve made a few temporary adjustments to our class schedule to better align with attendance trends. Instructors are off learning new skills and spending time in the world we can experience new instructors this summer on a slightly abbreviated schedule.

Starting this week, we will pause a few classes for summer, check the full schedule for updates. PLUS, Thursdays Noon class will be adding light weights for Stretch and Strengthen with Dawn Curran.

We know many of you love Payal’s calming sound evening sessions, so she’ll still be offering a monthly Sunset Sound Meditation—on Third Thursday at 730pm through the summer months.

Some changes to instructors for the summer too! Payal Vora will be instructing Thursdays at 5:30pm for Restorative/Yin. Plus, welcome Mary Robinson to Thursday evenings this summer while Amanda takes a seasonal break and Tuesday evenings 6pm will be guided by Irene and a few guest instructors through the summer.

We appreciate your flexibility and support as we move into this new rhythm for the warmer months.

Yoga Philosophy Book Club Begins June 15
We’re kicking off our new philosophy initiative by reading the Bhagavad Gita, one of yoga’s most revered texts. All are welcome—whether you’re new to yoga philosophy or looking to deepen your understanding.

Complimentary Community Classes with Toniann
Join our Ambassador Toniann for free Vinyasa-style classes this month. These classes are a great way to practice, connect, and support our growing teaching community.

Summer Solstice: 108 Sun Salutations
Mark the shift of the season with Amanda’s 108 Sun Salutations event. This moving meditation honors the light of the solstice through breath and repetition. Modifications will be offered, making it accessible and empowering for all levels.

This beautiful evolution would lead this yogi or yogini to take their yoga off the mat into their everyday lives in order to make the world a better place!
