Wellness, the TPS Way | Read the Label Twice

You’d be surprised how many medication issues start with misunderstanding the label.

💊 “Take twice daily” does not always mean morning and night.

💊 “With food” matters more than people think.

💊 “As needed” still has limits.

If you are ever unsure what your directions mean, pause and ask.

Our pharmacists and technicians are here to clarify, explain, and make sure you’re taking your medications the right way.

Proper use is just as important as the prescription itself.

Health Tip Tuesday | Care Beyond the Counter 🩺

Cold and flu season doesn’t stick to one script, and right now, a lot is still going around. From flu and COVID to strep throat and everything in between, knowing what you’re dealing with matters.

Just a reminder: at The Prescription Shoppe, we offer rapid testing, including rapid flu and rapid strep. When appropriate and based on results, our pharmacist can assess your symptoms and prescribe the right therapy so you can begin treatment sooner, without waiting days for answers.

This service helps take the guesswork out of “Is this more than a cold?” and gives patients a convenient, trusted option right here in the pharmacy.

If you’re not feeling well or symptoms seem to be lingering, stop by or give us a call. We’re here to help you get clarity, care, and peace of mind.

Behind the Counter Monday 😆 | Real Pharmacy. Real People. Real Shenanigans.

If you’ve ever wondered what happens behind the counter at The Prescription Shoppe… let’s just say it’s not all serious faces and counting by fives.

Yes, the work we do is serious. Medications matter. Accuracy matters. Our patients matter.

But in between verifying prescriptions and answering phones, there is a steady stream of side-eye, exaggerated facial expressions, playful commentary, and the occasional “Did you really just hand me that like that?” moment. 😅

We genuinely love working together. And when you love your team, even a simple basket exchange can turn into a full production.

The laughs keep us energized. The smiles keep us connected. And that camaraderie? That’s what allows us to show up every single day ready to serve our community with excellence.

We take our responsibility seriously — and we’re grateful we get to do it with people who make the journey enjoyable.♥️

To all the lovers out there — whether you’re celebrating with your spouse, your kids, your friends, or simply showing yourself some love — we’re wishing you a day filled with joy.

Have a safe, sweet, and relaxing weekend. 💕

Thankful Thursday 🤍

Recently, Dr. Jade L. Ranger participated in a Literacy for Life board retreat, a meaningful opportunity to reflect, collaborate, and continue strengthening the impact this organization has across the community.

Literacy for Life plays a critical role in advancing education, empowering families, and creating access to resources that support long-term success. Time spent in intentional planning and conversation at the retreat reinforced the importance of this work and the collective commitment behind it.

As a pharmacist, business owner, and community advocate, Dr. Ranger believes that showing up beyond the pharmacy counter matters. Building healthier communities requires education, advocacy, and strong partnerships with organizations dedicated to lasting change.

She is grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside passionate leaders and remains thankful for the work Literacy for Life continues to do every day.

Wellness, the TPS Way | Wednesday

You don’t have to be a healthcare professional to save a life. Sometimes, you are the first responder until help arrives.

Knowing CPR is one of the most powerful tools you can have in an emergency. Cardiac events do not wait for the “right” moment, and having basic life-saving knowledge can make all the difference for a loved one, a coworker, or even a stranger.

As pharmacists, we spend a lot of time talking about prevention, heart health, and knowing your numbers. But preparedness matters too. Being informed, trained, and ready is part of taking your health seriously.

If you have not already, we encourage you to learn CPR and refresh your skills regularly. It is a simple step that can have a life-changing impact.

Wellness is not just what you take. It is what you know and how you show up when it matters most.

Behind the Counter Mondays | A Look at the Work You Don’t Always See 💊

Behind the counter, there’s a lot more happening than most people realize.

Our team is constantly reviewing profiles, checking details, organizing fills, and making sure each prescription is handled with care and accuracy. The baskets, the screens, and the workflow are all part of a process built to keep patients safe and supported.

This work takes focus, patience, and teamwork. It’s not rushed, and it’s never one size fits all.

Because every prescription belongs to a real person, and we take that responsibility seriously!

Pharm Fridays | Real Pharmacy. Real People. Real Impact.

I’ve been holding onto this exciting news, and I’m so grateful to finally share it.

On Go Red Day for the American Heart Association, I’m honored to announce that I’ve been named a 2026 Hampton Roads Woman of Impact. This recognition means so much to me, both professionally and personally, as heart health advocacy is something I engage in every single day beyond the pharmacy counter.

As a community pharmacist, I have countless conversations with women about blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, stress, and prevention. This campaign allows me to extend those conversations beyond the pharmacy and into meaningful action by raising funds and awareness for education, advocacy, and research focused on women’s heart health.

Now I’m asking for your support.

If you’re able, would you consider donating to help advance the mission of the American Heart Association and improve heart health for women in our community? Every contribution, no matter the size, truly makes a difference.

Thank you for your continued support, encouragement, and partnership as we work together to make an impact.

❤️

Grateful for spaces that center women’s heart health, community, and connection.

This past weekend, Dr. Jade L. Ranger attended a meaningful gathering that was made even more special as attendees celebrated Ti’Juana Gholson on her birthday. is one of the fiercest advocates for heart health, and it was especially powerful to honor her while also paying tribute to her mother, whose legacy continues to drive education, awareness, and action around heart disease.

Moments like these reinforce the importance of taking heart health seriously every day. Through her work as a pharmacist, Dr. Ranger consistently encourages patients to prioritize heart health, know their numbers, stay consistent with care, and ask questions early rather than waiting.

Being surrounded by women so deeply committed to this cause was a powerful reminder of the value of connection, leadership, and showing up for one another.

Dr. Ranger is proud to serve on the Go Red for Women Executive Leadership Team and remains committed to advocating for awareness, education, and prevention year-round.

And yes, she thoroughly enjoyed flying her red dress and can’t wait to see the finished photos when they’re released. 😉💃🏽
