✨ Fun Fact Friday ✨

If you’ve ever visited our compounding lab or peeked around our shelves at The Prescription Shoppe, you know we LOVE a good piece of pharmacy history.

And here’s why…

Many of the tools you see in this photo weren’t just decorations once upon a time — they were the everyday essentials of pharmacy. From brass mortars and pestles to early pill presses and tincture mills, these instruments helped pharmacists prepare individualized medications long before automation and modern technology stepped in.

Fun fact:
Some of these classic tools are still used today, especially in compounding. There’s something timeless about the precision, craftsmanship, and intention that goes into hand-prepared medicine — and that tradition is a big part of why we opened The Prescription Shoppe in the first place.

Pharmacy has come a long way, but the heart of the profession hasn’t changed: careful preparation, scientific skill, and genuine care for every patient who walks through the door.

Here’s to the roots of our profession and to the innovation that keeps us moving forward. 💚

Happy Fun Fact Friday!

🌼 Happy 2-Year Work Anniversary, Jasmine! 🌼

We couldn’t let this day end without celebrating Jasmine and the light she brings to The Prescription Shoppe. For two years, she has shown up with heart, laughter, and a commitment to serving our patients and supporting our team.

We are grateful for every contribution she has made and for the way she helps keep our Pharmily strong.

Cheers to two amazing years… and many more to come! 💛

💙 A Double Dose of Thankful Thursday 💙

This morning, Dr. Jade L. Ranger returned to her Home by the Sea — Hampton University School of Pharmacy ( ) — to speak with the next generation of future pharmacists. Every visit back to HU is a meaningful reminder of the place that shaped her journey and helped build the foundation for the work she leads today at The Prescription Shoppe.

Dr. Ranger spent time sharing insights, lessons learned, and encouragement with the students, and was energized by their passion, curiosity, and commitment to the profession. Moments like these reinforce why mentorship and representation matter so deeply.

The Prescription Shoppe is always proud to see Dr. Ranger pour back into her alma mater and uplift the rising leaders who will soon carry the mantle of the profession of pharmacy forward.

Here’s to legacy, leadership, and lifting as we climb. Once a Hamptonian… always a Hamptonian. 💙⚓️

We are filled with gratitude as we reflect on the journey of The Prescription Shoppe — rooted in faith, family, and community. Although this article ran earlier in November, we wanted to make sure we didn’t forget to share it for anyone who may have missed it.

We’re honored to have our story highlighted and even more grateful for the people who continue to make this journey meaningful.

Thank you.
To our patients who walk through our doors and entrust us with their care.
To our team whose dedication brings our mission to life each day.
To our community that supports us, encourages us, and believes with us in something better — for you and for all of us.

We started this with a hope that every person would feel known, valued, and loved. That mission is still alive. Your part in it means the world.

Here’s to continuing the journey — hand in hand, heart to heart.

💪🏽 Workout Wednesday: Let’s Get It!

Some days the hardest part of working out is… well… everything before the workout.
So here’s a more realistic checklist to help you get moving today:

Workout Checklist
✔️ Stretch so your body remembers what flexibility feels like
✔️ Pick a playlist that makes you feel unstoppable
✔️ Do at least one thing that raises your heart rate
✔️ Reward yourself with something healthy-ish

Because no matter how busy life gets — your body, your mood, and your future self will thank you for making movement a priority.

Show up for yourself today… and check something off the list. Even if the “plan” is just a 10-minute walk between tasks. It all counts!

Health Tip Tuesday: Protect Your Peace & Your Health This Holiday Season ✨

Following yesterday’s reminder to mind your mindfulness, today we’re shifting into the physical side of wellness — because your body deserves just as much care as your spirit this December.

The holiday rush can take a toll on your immune system, sleep, and stress levels if you’re not intentional. So here are a few simple, doable ways to stay healthy as we move into the busiest (and most magical) time of year:

💧Hydrate like it’s your job.
Cold weather tricks us into drinking less water, but your body still needs it — especially with holiday treats on the menu.

🛏️ Prioritize sleep.
Late nights wrapping gifts, prepping meals, or scrolling for deals will catch up with you. Good rest = better immunity.

🏃🏽‍♂️Get moving.
You don’t need a full workout to feel good. A 10-minute walk, stretching before bed, or dancing to Christmas music all count.

🥗 Eat with intention.
Enjoy your favorites — absolutely. But balance the sweets and feasts with nourishing meals whenever you can.

🚫 Say “no” when necessary.
Overscheduling is real. Protect your bandwidth. Protect your health.

💊 Keep your prescriptions on schedule.
Holiday interruptions happen quick. Set reminders, stay consistent, and don’t skip doses.

Taking care of yourself isn’t selfish — it’s how you show up fully for the moments and the people who matter most.

Here’s to a healthy, grounded start to the Christmas season. 💚🎄🥂

🎄 Mindfulness Monday: December Reset 🎄

December 1st is here, which means the Christmas season has officially clocked in — and if we’re not careful, the holiday hustle will try to run the show. So today, we’re choosing to mind our mindfulness before the whirlwind begins.

This season is full of joy, but it can also be full of noise, expectations, and endless to-do lists. That’s why grounding yourself early makes all the difference.

Here are a few mindful ways to ease into the holiday spirit without losing your peace:

✨ Start slow. Before you dive into decorating, shopping, or planning, take a quiet moment to breathe and set the tone for your month.

✨ Choose presence over perfection. The memories won’t come from the “perfect holiday” — they’ll come from the moments you were fully in.

✨ Create small rituals. A cup of tea before the day starts, five minutes of deep breathing, or turning on your favorite Christmas playlist while you get ready.

✨ Give yourself grace. You can’t (and don’t have to) do everything. Prioritize what matters, release what doesn’t.

As we move into this beautiful season of light, love, and reflection, let’s remember:
The greatest gift you can give yourself is your peace.

Here’s to a mindful, meaningful, and magical December. 💚🎁

This month I’m diving into the balance between being watchful and being worrisome — a tension every parent feels at some point. I hope it encourages you, grounds you, and reminds you that we’re all learning as we go.

Thank you for reading and supporting this work. 💚

While we must always be watchful, we can stay in tune with our children without being worrisome.

🍁 Fun Fact Friday: Post-Thanksgiving Edition! 🍁

We hope everyone had a beautiful Thanksgiving and that your tummies — and hearts — are still full! After a whirlwind fall season, our team is finally catching our breath… and laughing all over again as we look back at Spirit Week!

The week before Thanksgiving, our crew had an absolute blast participating in our very first TPS Fall Spirit Week — and we owe a huge thank-you to Siniyah for initiating it and bringing the fun! From cozy sweaters to sports day, our team showed up and showed out all week long.

And yes… we’re already planning our Christmas Holiday Spirit Week, because why stop now?

Here’s hoping your holiday was restful, joyful, and filled with good food, good company, and a whole lot of gratitude.

Stay tuned — the holiday cheer is just getting started at The Prescription Shoppe! 🎄✨

🍂 Thankful Thursday 🍂

At The Prescription Shoppe, Thanksgiving always reminds us to slow down, look around, and really take in the blessings that surround us — big, small, and everything in between.

This season has been full, fast, and faithful… and yet, here we are, grateful as ever. Grateful for our patients who trust us with their care. Grateful for a team that shows up with heart every single day. Grateful for a community that continues to wrap its arms around us year after year.

As we gather with our families, friends, and loved ones, we’re reminded that gratitude is more than a holiday — it’s a way of life. The kind that steadies you, humbles you, and keeps you grounded in what really matters.

So from our Pharmily to yours…
Happy Thanksgiving.

May your tables be full, your hearts even fuller, and your weekend blessed with rest, laughter, and memories worth holding onto.

We are grateful. Today and always. ♥️

💪🏽 Workout Wednesday: The Pre-Thanksgiving Edition🦃

Let’s be honest — the real workout many of us will get tomorrow is lifting our forks, working our jaw muscles, and sprinting to the kitchen for “just one more plate.” 😅

But before we sop up all that good food (because let’s not pretend we’re not going to), don’t forget to get some real movement in today!

A little pre-holiday activity can help keep you from falling into that “holiday weight gain” cycle we all know too well. And after dinner?
👉🏽 Get in a walk, stretch session, or any kind of movement to get that blood flowing.

And listen… even if you need to take a nap first, we fully support that. A well-timed Thanksgiving nap is practically a national tradition. 😂

The goal isn’t perfection — it’s balance. Enjoy your food, enjoy your family, and enjoy your rest… just don’t forget to show your health a little love too.

Here’s to staying active, staying grateful, and staying ready for that second plate! 🍽️🤎🧡

💊 Health Tip Tuesday: Don’t Get Caught Slippin’ This Holiday!

Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and our team is gearing up for some much-needed downtime with family, friends, and good food. That also means The Prescription Shoppe will be closed from November 27th through December 1st — so here’s your friendly (and firm!) reminder:

👉🏽 Be proactive and pick up your prescriptions before we close!

Nothing derails a holiday faster than realizing your medication is sitting on a pharmacy shelf. Save yourself the stress and grab everything you need now, while we’re still open and fully stocked.

Your health doesn’t take a holiday — but you should be able to enjoy yours without worry.
We’re here to help you do just that.
