As we celebrate our 250th Birthday of our Great Country, we can never forget the people that got us here…eight of them in my family, Countless medals and awards, three Purple Hearts. I say that because a lot of records were lost in the big archives fire. Peter Gaidis USN WWII Purple Heart, James McKee USAR WWII Purple Heart, Robert Lester USAR WWII Purple Heart, William Bishop USCG WWII, William McKee USAR WWII, Edward Murray USMC Korea, William Bishop USN Vietnam, and MAJ Gaidis USAR served our troops after 9/11. Happy Veteran’s Day!!!

We recently attended Southern Dental Society’s October Meeting at Laurel Creek Country Club. We had an informative lecture….Oral Medicine: Essential Knowledge for the General Practitioner with Maya Ramachandran, DMD. I attended with two of my three Dental Hygienists- Juliana and Kimberlee pictured here with Dr. Ramachandran. She is a Graduate of the Penn Oral Medicine Program. Their graduates are top notch and I use them as a resource to manage complex cases.

My old friend Dr. Tom Kadar dropped by during his annual Mr. Softee run. We did general dentistry together when I first graduated dental school and he was in Ortho Residency 1988-1990 (approximately). We have remained friends ever since. Thanks for the ice cream Mr. Softee and Dr. Tom!!!!

We celebrated our graduating Seniors of PCU F with a Hooding Ceremony at Han Dynasty in Old City Wednesday evening. I am pictured here with our Group Leader Dr. Shawn Lavallee and the Seniors of PCU F. Congratulations to all of our Graduating Seniors at Penn Dental.

We recently celebrated Southern Dental Society’s Staff Night at “Bury the Hatchet” in Cherry Hill, NJ! It was dangerous and scary!!!! Everyone made it through unscathed and we left with all of our fingers!!!@

The Mighty Molars Team would like to give a huge shout out to our staff that does some heavy lifting. We celebrated Administrative Assistant’s Week with some flowers and gifts. What a team we have….Debbie R, Debbie G, Sharon, Joleth and Nicole!!!! Their duties include- maintaining patient records, patient scheduling, answering phone calls, dental office administration, dental health maintenance, greeting and dismissing patients, dental billing, managing facilities, financial transactions, corresponding with specialists and physicians, scheduling appointments, paying bills, ordering supplies, basic cleaning and maintenance, technology maintenance and always keeping a smiling and happy face throughout their hard day’s work. We couldn’t function without them and we are blessed with some of the best in the biz! I am pictured here with Debbie R and Joleth. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Beginnings and Endings……

I went down to pick up my cap and gown for this year’s graduation. It is always a good time to reflect….

I am finishing up my 18th year as a Clinical Assistant Professor and Admissions Advisor at Penn Dental School. Being on Faculty is rewarding, challenging and fun!

I ran into one of our students that I interviewed five years ago. Matt went to University of Southern Florida Undergraduate and was accepted to University of Florida into their Oral Surgery program.

I interviewed Kiersten from The University of Florida a few weeks back. She was accepted into the Class of 2029 at Penn Dental. This is one of the many hundreds of stories I have to tell.

It is a privilege to have a part in their narrative.

I had a great admissions interview for Penn Dental a while back with this Florida Gator! Kiersten let me know she was accepted and was coming up for a visit from Gainesville. She shadowed at my office this morning before she headed up to Philly to check out Penn with her mother Vicki. We wish her the best of luck as she transitions from a Gator 🐊 to a Quaker!!!

We celebrated Dental Assistant’s Week by going to Southern Dental Society’s Meeting dinner/lecture at Mt. Laurel Country Club. We ended our week with some flowers and gift certificates. We would like to thank our Dental Assistants Trish, Mare and Domonique for their dedication to our patient’s care.
