Food. Feet. Water. Repeat.

We live in a culture obsessed with food. It's everywhere. Buildings formerly known as "gas stations" now tantalize customers with racks of junk food. On the same block, you can order stay-seated-on-your-tush fast food from your car. In every direction, you'll encounter Big Gulps, super sizes, and Ex…

Yum.

And so easy.

My current go-to breakfast is steel-cut oatmeal. With a little forethought, you can make enough enough steel-cut oats for a whole week in just five minutes. Once it's made you can reheat it in the microwave (it gets yummier) or layer it in a yogurt parfait.

Make Ahead Steel-Cut Oats
1 2/3 cups of steel-cut oats
4 cups of water
large pinch of salt

Bring ingredients to a boil. Simmer for about 3 minutes and then turn off the heat. Leave on the counter overnight.

The next morning either enjoy it hot by reheating a portion with mix-ins (cinnamon, dried fruit, nuts, jam or honey) or cold by layering it with yogurt, fruit or jam into a parfait.

You're welcome!

The studio will be closed February 16-20. I'll try to bring back some sun and warmth!

This Friday from 10-3, get 20% off all Asics special orders at the new Shoe Den at Nature's Closet. It's a great opportunity to replace that pair of shoes that has a few too many miles on it and to support our newest business!
