Wildfire Updates

⚠️🔥💨⚠️
Many residents are waking to a scene like this photo taken by a Borough of Glassboro employee and resident. Smoke conditions from the Phesant Run (Glassboro Wildlife Management Area - CC Woods) Wildfire are causing an influx of calls to our 9-1-1 center due to smoke and CO detectors alarming or general concerns. Glassboro, Washington Twp. and Williamstown Fire Depts have answered an unprecedented amount of calls for service since mid morning. If you do not see active fire within your home, this wildfire smoke may likely be what is disrupting your morning. Residents throughout the county will likely experience these issues as wind directions may change.

Residents are urged to keep doors and windows closed and remain indoors, with pets, when possible to alleviate the effects of this smoke. We are closely monitoring the situation with NJ Forest Fire and local fire officials and remain hopeful for atmospheric and fire/smoke conditions to improve. No evacuation orders are being requested at this time and conditions are subject to change or worsen.
