Winter is COMING & so is FLU SEASON!

Rake without the ache! Raking leaves is a common fall time activity that needs to get done regularly. Although this is true, many people are raking their leaves wrong, making a visit to our office necessary to adjust the spine and eliminate back pain often felt after cleaning up the yard. Here are a few tips in avoiding back pain while raking and get the chore

1. Switch hands while raking - preventing muscle exhaustion
2. Use the right rake- one that is not too short or too long
3. Don't overreach/extend the arms, step into the movement
4. Wear supportive shoes
5. Bend at the knees rather than at the waist, keeping your back straight
6. Warm up/ stretch before raking
7. Take breaks & drink lots of water- allowing your body to process so it does not get overworked

Our front desk duties include checking patients in for appointments, collecting co-pays, scheduling appointments and answering patient phone calls.
