In Chinese Medicine, spring is a powerful and symbolic season — a time of renewal, growth, and movement. It’s associated with the Wood element, which embodies upward and outward energy, much like trees sprouting new buds and plants pushing through the earth after winter.

Here’s what spring means to you, energetically and emotionally:
🌱 Season of Renewal
Spring is when Yang energy rises — it’s dynamic, creative, and bursting with potential. After the stillness of winter (Yin), your body and mind are ready to wake up, stretch out, and start moving. It’s a time for:

New beginnings

Setting intentions

Starting projects

Letting go of stagnation

🌿 The Liver: Your Spring Organ
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), spring corresponds to the Liver and its partner, the Gallbladder.

The Liver’s job is to keep qi (energy) flowing smoothly, both physically and emotionally. When Liver qi is balanced, you feel:

Clear-headed

Energized

Motivated

Emotionally flexible

When it’s stagnant, though, you might experience:

Frustration or irritability

Mood swings

Digestive issues

Tight muscles (especially neck and shoulders)

🌬️ Emotions of Spring: Anger & Vision
The emotion of the Liver is anger, but in a healthy sense, it’s assertiveness, drive, and courage. Spring encourages you to channel that energy into growth — like setting goals, speaking your truth, or making long-overdue changes.

The Liver also rules the eyes, so spring is about clarity of vision — both physical and spiritual. What do you want to see more clearly in your life?

🍵 Supporting Your Body in Spring
You can align with the season by:

Eating light and fresh foods — think greens, sprouts, and sour flavors (like lemon or vinegar) to stimulate the Liver

Moving your body — walking, stretching, or gentle yoga to keep energy flowing

Waking earlier — rise with the sun to match the season’s upward energy

Decluttering — spring cleaning isn’t just for your house; it’s for your emotions and mind, too

🌸 The Big Message of Spring in TCM:
"Grow, move, express."

Spring asks:

What’s been lying dormant inside you?
What are you ready to grow?
What old patterns can you shed like a winter coat?
