Winter invites stillness, depth, and quiet power. In Taoist wisdom, this season is considered the gateway to your Life Source. When you enter Winter correctly, you build the energetic reserves that determine your health, creativity, and clarity for the entire year.

A beautiful intention-grounded, mindful, reads less like a plan and more like a way of being.

What is your intention for 2026? Perhaps:

• Presence over pressure
• Authenticity over performance
• Living organically, not mechanically
• Treating each minute as meaningful, not rushed
• Moving through life with awareness, respect, and inner alignment

Here’s mine:
“In 2026, I intend to enrich every minute by living fully in the present— choosing authenticity, organic truth, and conscious awareness in how I think, act, and connect.”

Aligning with Chinese’s Year of the Horse energy (movement, freedom, stamina, forward momentum) pairs beautifully with this-
not running blindly, but moving with purpose and presence.

What we intend for has a much more likelihood of happening… We are creators

I made made Master Lu’s 5 Element Soup. The soup is intended to heal all 5 elements (organ system’s)- heart, lung, liver, kidney and stomach. It’s so good! I also had the best night of sleep thereafter. Eat to nurture and heal!

Five Element Soup:
Nurturing and supportive to all the organs, this hearty soup does it all. Add greens or leftovers for additional meals. Use leftover soup as a topping for noodles!

Traditional Chinese Medicine teaches us how to mannage our most critical resource- our human energy. By minding our Qi, we can learn the ancient art of longevity.

“Yet another year passes, and our passion to experience the never ending “magic” of Qi continues. This invisible source doesn’t come with a manual yet we know it exists. We feel it when we’re off balance and we recognize when Qigong practice brings us back.

The Winter Solstice (Dec. 21) is a turning point, when Earth’s energy begins to rise again. It’s a gradual process over about 14 days which makes now a sensitive time for the body. As “energy beings.” we too must match this gentle rise in energy and give the body time to gradually transition.

If we push too hard during this time—too many activities, too much emotional output, or overeating—the body will struggle to catch up and your energy will drop. You already know what this feels like, so try to take it slow and allow the body time to gradually complete the process. You’ll be so happy you did!”-

Wintertime Valley

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), winter is the season of the Kidneys and Urinary Bladder, linked to the Water element, representing deep rest, inward focus, and the storage of life essence (Jing) to prepare for the year ahead. It’s a time for conservation, nourishing the body with dark, warming foods (like black beans, nuts, soups), getting extra rest, and staying hydrated to support kidney function and vital energy.
Key Associations for Winter in TCM:

Element: Water (Water element’s Yin organ is the Kidney, Yang is the Bladder).

Organ Network: Kidneys & Urinary Bladder.

Energy: Utmost Yin (rest, conservation, inward flow).

Emotion: Fear (which can become anxiety if imbalanced).

Action: Slow down, sleep more, eat warming foods, conserve energy.

Have you ever noticed how a single encouraging word can turn your entire day around?

Positive affirmations for energy work on a similar principle, but they supercharge your whole being.

Here’s a simple guide to energize your day with affirmations:

1. Choose Your Moment: Find a time when you can have a quiet moment

2. Stand Tall: Posture affects confidence and energy levels. Stand or sit up straight, take a deep breath, and declare your affirmation loudly and clearly.

3. Repeat, Repeat, Repeat: Consistency is key.

4. Visualize- As you affirm, picture yourself filled up with energy

5. Reflect: End your affirmation by reflecting on the feelings and thoughts that arose.
