December 7-13 is National Hand Washing Awareness Week.
Are you *aware* of your hands? We know that sounds funny, but it can be easy to use our hands in ways that could spread germs without really thinking about it. A few things to keep in mind is to NOT use them to cough or sneeze into - keep them OFF your face when possible - and make sure to keep them CLEAN.
It sounds so simple, but good hand hygiene really does reduce illness and helps prevent avoidable infections - and it's EASY to do! Follow these 5 simple steps to keep your hands clean:
1. wet your hands
2. use soap
3. scrub for at least 20 seconds (remember in between fingers, thumbs and wrists!)
4. rinse with clean running water
5. dry (use that paper towel to turn off the tap!)
