We kind of nerd out over teeth, weird? Nah...
You probably know where your wisdom teeth are, but do you know what the rest of your teeth are called? Each type of tooth has a special job that helps you eat, speak, and smile with ease. Your incisors are the sharp front teeth that cut food into smaller pieces. Next to them are your canines, which help tear food apart. Behind those are your premolars and molars, the strong, flat teeth that grind and chew so you can swallow comfortably. They work together to make your smile functional.

My child lost their first tooth - now what?
Losing a tooth is an exciting milestone and should be celebrated! If your child feels worried, reassure them that losing baby teeth is a natural part of growing up. You can reward them with a visit from the Tooth Fairy. Make sure they are brushing the rest of their teeth for two minutes, two times a day with toothpaste and be particularly gentle on the area where the tooth fell out.

About the Dentist

Arie was born and raised in North Dakota. He attended Minot State University for Undergrad, then moved to Omaha where he graduated as one of the top in his class at Creighton University School of Dentistry. After practicing for a year in the small town of Glenwood, Iowa, it was time to move closer to home. With him, he brought his little family-Maryssa and their two sons, Izak and Raife.

Growing up around dentistry, Arie appreciates that it is both an art and science, while being able to provide care to people. Williston was a top choice to put down roots and practice due to the small town charm that he's use to. In his off time, he enjoys bowling, checking out new movies and following football in the fall. Arie takes pride in watching and being a part of his son’s sporting events. He looks forward to spending more time in Williston, while getting to know the community and locals!
