😴 Holiday Stress Affecting Your Sleep?
The holiday season is joyful—but it can also be stressful. Increased worry, travel plans, and irregular routines can make sleep harder…and for those with sleep apnea, that stress can make symptoms even worse.
✨ This season, take care of yourself:
-Stick to a consistent sleep schedule
-Avoid late-night caffeine or alcohol
-Practice deep breathing before bed
-Don’t ignore snoring or daytime fatigue.
Your body deserves restful sleep—especially during the holidays. If stress is keeping you awake or your sleep apnea symptoms feel worse, we’re here to help.
🛏️ A good night’s sleep is one of the best gifts you can give yourself.
Long weekends with family can be wonderful - but they can also leave your sleep feeling a little off-track. Late nights, heavier meals, and a break from your usual routine can all add up. If you’re feeling a bit foggy today, you’re not alone.
The good news? Your body wants to reset. With a few simple steps, you can gently guide your sleep back into balance:
💧 Start with hydration: Rich foods and extra treats can leave you feeling sluggish. Water helps your system recalibrate.
☀️ Get some daylight: A short morning walk or even a few minutes outside with your coat on can nudge your internal clock back into rhythm.
🍎 Simplify meals today: Light, balanced foods help digestion calm down, making it easier to fall asleep tonight.
💤 Aim for an earlier wind-down: Even 20–30 minutes of quiet time helps signal to your body that it’s safe to rest again.
One imperfect weekend won’t undo your sleep progress — it’s just a temporary detour. You’re already on your way back. If sleep continues to be a struggle, we’re here to help. 📲 Learn more at rsswillmar.com

The year is winding down — but it’s not too late to make your sleep a priority! 😴✨
If you’ve been putting off a sleep assessment, now’s the perfect time to schedule before the year ends. Take advantage of your remaining health benefits and start the new year feeling rested, refreshed, and healthy.
Don’t wait — better sleep starts with one simple step.
Ever find yourself scrolling just one more time before bed - only to end up wide awake an hour later? 😵💫 You’re not alone. Screens emit blue light that suppresses melatonin (your sleep hormone) and keep your brain alert long after you’re ready to rest.
Here are 4 simple ways to set healthy digital boundaries tonight:
1️⃣ Set a “digital sunset.”
Turn off all screens at least 60 minutes before bed. Let your brain shift from stimulation to stillness.
2️⃣ Use Night Shift or Blue Light Filters.
If you must be on a device in the evening, turn on warm lighting modes or wear blue-light–blocking glasses.
3️⃣ Create a “charging zone” outside the bedroom.
Your phone doesn’t need to sleep next to you.
4️⃣ Replace scrolling with soothing.
Try gentle stretches, journaling, or listening to calming music instead.
🌙 Your mind deserves a soft landing at the end of the day.
By setting small tech boundaries, you teach your body it’s time to rest - not refresh.
If sleep continues to be a struggle, we’re here to help.

Feeling Off After Daylight Savings Time? 😴
It’s completely normal — even a one-hour shift can throw off your sleep routine, especially if rest has already been a challenge.
Here are a few simple ways to help your body (and mind) adjust:
1️⃣ Prep ahead for smoother mornings.
If you’ve got kids, take a few minutes the night before to lay out clothes, pack backpacks, and set up breakfast items. A little prep can make mornings less stressful for everyone.
2️⃣ Move your alarm.
Place it somewhere that forces you to get out of bed to turn it off — it’s a small change that can make a big difference in getting your day started.
3️⃣ Refresh your bedtime routine.
Try gentle habits like meditation, journaling, reading, or limiting screens before bed. Avoid late-night snacks, especially those high in sugar, to help your body wind down naturally.
⏰ Don’t let the time change get you down — give yourself grace and time to adjust.
If sleep continues to be a struggle, we’re here to help.

Why Sleep? Jarad's Passion to Start Sleep Center of Willmar
When I was a sleep tech in Des Moines, Iowa, I worked with a woman who had struggled with sleep and had a history of anxiety and depression for many years.
During her sleep study, we discovered that she had severe sleep apnea. We set her up with a CPAP device and she slept with it for about three hours.
When she woke up, she told me that was the best sleep she had gotten in 20+ years. Her response was an emotional one and she gave me a big hug.
Truth is I’m not a hugger — but I will always remember her story.
This is where my passion for sleep started and why I eventually opened the Sleep Center of Willmar.
My team and I have the privilege to be a part of so many people’s stories to finding better, quality sleep. What we do can truly change a life, not only in one night, but have that lifelong impact.
