Fighting Inflammation Starts with Your Plate

Small changes make a big difference. Adding foods like berries, leafy greens, nuts, fatty fish, and turmeric to your meals can help calm inflammation and support overall health.

Simple choices, stronger you.

As always, check with your primary care physician or dietitian to build a plan that works for you!

Tired all the time? Your sleep might be raising your blood sugar.

Most people know diet and exercise affect diabetes risk — but did you know lack of sleep can too?
Getting fewer than 6 hours of rest each night can make your body more resistant to insulin, causing higher blood sugar and increasing the risk of prediabetes or type 2 diabetes.

This American Diabetes Month, take a moment to check in on your sleep habits:

Aim for 7–8 hours per night
Talk to your provider if you snore or have trouble staying asleep
Ask about a simple blood sugar test

Good rest is more than a recharge — it’s a vital part of diabetes prevention.

There’s a 37-year-old man — let’s call him Dane — who spends his evenings wide awake long after the day should be over. His shift starts at 7:00 a.m. and ends around 4:30, and when he gets home, he cooks his own dinner and takes his time eating it. Apart from the early start, he’s in no ru...

Living with arthritis isn’t easy — but small changes can make a big difference.

Start simple:
Add anti-inflammatory foods like leafy greens, berries, and salmon.
Move your body gently each day.
Stay hydrated and get enough rest.

While there’s no cure, you can ease the pain and protect your joints with daily habits that support your bones and muscles.

At Good Graces Pharmacy, we’re here to help you build a plan that works for you — one step (and one meal) at a time.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Early detection saves lives!

Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers, but when found early, it’s highly treatable. This month, take a moment to:

• Learn the signs and symptoms.
• Talk to your healthcare provider about screening.
• Schedule your mammogram if you’re due.
• Support those affected by sharing resources and wearing pink.

Knowledge and action can make all the difference.
Encourage your loved ones to prioritize their health and join the conversation this October.

Together, we can raise awareness, offer support, and save lives!

Not long ago, a woman in her early thirties began noticing an unusual reaction in her body. At first, she had no idea these subtle symptoms were connected to breast cancer. After all, who expects to face such a diagnosis at such a young age?

Due to the extreme high temperatures, Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative is entering a peak alert period. Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative is asking members to alternate the use of major appliances, including washers, dryers, dishwashers, ovens and stoves from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. If a peak electrical demand is reached it could cost the cooperative and members hundreds of thousands of dollars in the future. This is a peak alert period, from now until 7 p.m. Remember you can make a difference.
