🌿 What is Yoga Nidra? (And why everyone needs it right now)
Yoga Nidra — often called “yogic sleep” — is one of the most powerful yet simple relaxation techniques in existence. It’s a guided meditation done lying down where you systematically relax the body, calm the mind, and enter a state between wakefulness and sleep.
Here’s what makes it special:
• You stay fully aware while the body rests deeply (no falling asleep required)
• It activates the parasympathetic nervous system (rest & digest mode) faster than most other practices
• One 30–45 minute session can feel like 2–4 hours of restorative sleep
• It helps reduce stress, anxiety, insomnia, chronic tension, and even supports emotional healing
• No flexibility, strength, or experience needed — literally just lie down and listen
How it works (quick overview):
1. Settle into a comfortable Savasana (co**se pose)
2. Set a sankalpa (a short, positive heart intention like “I am calm and whole”)
3. Guided body scan to release tension layer by layer
4. Breath awareness & opposite sensations (hot/cold, heavy/light) to balance the nervous system
5. Visualization & deeper rest states
6. Return slowly with your sankalpa reinforced
Many people notice big shifts after just a few sessions: better sleep, less reactivity, clearer mind, and a sense of inner peace that lingers.
If you’ve never tried it, drop a comment and let us guide you through one. Lie down in a quiet spot, cover up with a blanket, and let someone else guide you — no effort on your part.
