This is the best advice I know….. Don’t beat yourself up, and don’t throw in the towel….figure out what you can do, and do that, even if it’s just one single thing. When you’re ill or healing you can’t push through great barriers of accomplishment, it’s just not realistic or what your body wants. Be content that sometimes baby steps are all that is possible, and those are perfectly OK!
This! I get overwhelmed quite often with how much things pile up when going through long bouts of illness. That, and just my day to day challenges with anxiety and depression, can sometimes make me freeze up, not knowing where or how to even begin. It’s not a glamorous thing to share, but it’s the truth, and there’s no shame in it. I just need to be more creative with how I rise through it. Reading this resonated with me and is what I try and do each day. Break it down. Start somewhere. Just begin. Do Something and don’t focus on the Everything; makes it a lot less daunting. Even on our worst days we can tackle Some thing(s). Some days those things might be really small, and I’m moving at a crawl...that’s okay too. I also remind myself that I can rest between, or sometimes even during😊️. Whatever it takes. This may sound like common sense, but I’m an extreme kind of girl with OCD tendencies, and learning to be okay with doing part of the whole has had its challenges. Sometimes when unable to do Everything, and doing it “just so,” I can psyche myself out and end up doing Nothing. So, do Something, then rest... Something, then rest. Little by little it all really does add up. 😘Leila⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
