Joint pain is one of those things many women accept as part of aging.

So we adapt...
KT tape.
ACE bandages.
Pain relievers.
Heating pads.
Trying to sleep in just the right position.

But common doesn’t always mean normal.

Sometimes those aches and pains are a sign that inflammation in the body is higher than it should be.

And for many women, mast cells and histamine can play a role in that inflammation.

If joint pain feels like part of everyday life,
comment NORMAL and I’ll help you find relief.

When histamine symptoms start showing up everywhere, the instinct is often to remove another food.

And then another.

Soon the list of “safe foods” gets smaller and smaller.

But if everything seems to cause symptoms, it may be worth asking a different question.
Is it the food…
or the nervous system carrying too much load?

Mast cells don’t just respond to food.
They respond to stress too.
Deadlines.
Family schedules.
Poor sleep.
Constant vigilance around food.

Sometimes the work isn’t removing more foods.

Sometimes the work is settling the system first.

DM me "SETTLE" and I’ll show you how.

Onions are one of those foods that seem simple… until they aren’t.

Raw vs. cooked.
Fresh vs. dried.
Soup made at home vs. broth from a cube.

If you’ve ever wondered why onions feel fine one way and not another, I just published a new Can I Eat… blog that walks through what’s really going on — without turning onions into something to fear.

This post is about context, preparation, and understanding patterns instead of labeling foods as “good” or “bad.”

Onions are everywhere.

Sourdough gets a lot of credit for being good for the gut — and sometimes, that’s true.
But when histamine intolerance or mast cell issues are part of the picture, the story can be more nuanced.

I just published a new Can I Eat… blog that looks at sourdough through a histamine-aware lens — from fermentation and starter age to store-bought vs homemade, flatbreads, pizza dough, and even freezing.

No rules.
No fear.
Just context, chemistry, and why the same food can feel supportive one day and unpredictable the next.

As I write this, there’s a sourdough starter on my counter. I fed it this morning.

How food is cooked can matter just as much as what’s on the plate — especially when histamine symptoms feel unpredictable.
In this week’s Histamine Health Coach episode, I’m unpacking how cooking methods, heat, and timing influence inflammation, oxidative stress, and histamine load — and why small shifts (not restriction) can help meals feel calmer again.

If you’ve ever wondered why the same food feels fine one day and off the next, this conversation may bring some clarity.

What if the real trigger isn’t the food on your plate, but the way it’s cooked? We dig into the hidden link between high-heat browning, advanced glycation end products (AGEs), oxidative stress, and the histamine symptoms that make your day feel un...

The holidays may be coming to a close — but sweet potatoes aren’t just for casseroles and pie. 🍠

For many women with histamine intolerance, sweet potatoes can be a grounding, low-histamine staple…
when they’re prepared and paired thoughtfully.

How you cook them
What you add to them
How long they sit in the fridge
What else is on your plate
All of that matters.

In this week’s blog, I break down:
✔️ Whether sweet potatoes are truly low histamine
✔️ Why fries and complex dishes can backfire
✔️ Cooking methods that tend to feel calmer
✔️ How pairing with protein can make a difference

If you’re looking to simplify your low-histamine routine — without giving up foods you enjoy — this one’s worth a read.

Sweet potatoes are one of those foods many women with histamine intolerance naturally gravitate toward. They’re comforting, filling, and feel far less reactive than many other carbohydrates.
