Full Bloomed Lotus Center for Self Awareness

Full Bloomed Lotus Center for Self Awareness A meditation and self-awareness center addressing the mind, the body and the soul, where you can release your fears, and realize your dreams.

Full Bloomed Lotus started off in the home of its founder Ramaa Krishnan as informal gatherings where Ramaa shared her wisdom and perspectives from the land of her birth (India) and taught other moms like herself how to apply these to the demands of present day life and situations. By word of mouth as more and more joined her group to be inspired to change their lives by changing their thoughts, a need was felt to take this to a more formal place and setting so as to make this accessible to greater numbers. Ramaa relocated her groups first to a studio on Washington Avenue in Wilmette, then to a new studio a few doors down on Green Bay Road, and now she provides guided classes in Full Bloomed Lotus' online space. Her offerings have continued to grow over the years to include several tools and teachings, and she now offers online classes, meditations, and study groups on Mindfulness. Full Bloomed Lotus' mission is to integrate the emotional intelligence of the East with the intellectual strengths of the West by sharing Eastern Mindfulness teachings and exercises alongside the findings of science that support these practices. By regularly adhering to a routine of emotional and physical self-care we can indeed release our fears and realize our dreams.

Today we passed shops selling images of Hindu deities, and admired the skills of their sculptors. In ancient temples we have been seeing these same forms carved into stone — some still intact, others bearing the marks of time and history.
Many misunderstand Hinduism as polytheistic. In truth, it points toward one underlying consciousness, expressed through many forms and energies. The gods and goddesses are not separate beings competing for worship — they are symbolic doorways into different qualities of the One: compassion, courage, wisdom, creativity, protection, and so on.

Today in Abhaneri, we stood before thousand-year-old carvings that tell stories from Hindu mythology. This one depicts the fearless Goddess Durga (with her eight hands) slaying the shape-shifting demon Mahishasura, in the battle between good and evil.
I have long been inspired by this story and its symbolism, which I wrote about in The Yoga of Self-Love.
Mahishasura represents fear in its many disguises. Durga represents the fierce, loving clarity within us that refuses to turn away.
This is not mythology.
This is inner work.

This sacred symbol sits upon the bell at the Ranakpur Jain Temple in Rajasthan, 600 years old, that we visited today. Jain mantras are carved onto this grand bell. 💛
The upward-pointing triangle represents masculine energy.
The downward-pointing triangle represents feminine energy,
a symbol of balance and union. Just like the Star of David. Such a powerful reminder that different traditions are really pointing to the same truth: wholeness, harmony, and love.
Travel like this changes you. In the best way. Which is the reason I love leading such groups. An enjoyable path to inner growth.✨

Meditation is not an escape from tough times. It is an exercise in accessing our inner peace and wisdom, so that we may be present more powerfully and respond more intentionally.
Classes will be on Zoom and recorded, so you can catch up and stay the course. Coming together as a group, we can learn and support each other through these times.

It is said that when the going gets tough, the tough get going.
But what if real strength isn’t about pushing harder on the outside but opening up to our true potential from within?

When life feels uncertain, a Manifestation Mindset helps us stay curious, receptive, and in harmony with the greater flow.

Join me for 21 days (Zoom only) of cultivating openness, trust, and creative alignment—a journey to co-create with the universe and invite new possibilities to unfold. 🌿

The retreat is over… but the real practice begins.
I see death also as a kind of retreat—where we rest, meet soul friends, and return to life, renewed, and ready to live the wisdom.
What promises did you make to yourself before you got here?
How have you honored them?
Think about it. Let me know if you can! ❤️❤️
