We had an amazing turnout for our 2nd annual Sensory Friendly Trunk or Treat! Big thank you to all of the awesome vendors that attended. And another huge thank you to Hampstead Women's Club for donating to help make this event possible! It was awesome seeing all of the great costumes, watching families get to take photos at the Photo Booth, and getting to connect with all of the wonderful local vendors.

Excited to host our 2nd annual indoor Sensory Friendly Trunk or Treat and Halloween Festival on Saturday October 25th! A huge thank you to the Hampstead Women's Club for donating to this event to help make it even better! We will have a variety of activities, squishy making, a Halloween themed scavenger hunt, a photobooth and props for families to take photos, and more. We had an awesome turnout for our (indoor) Sensory Friendly Trunk or Treat last year. We are gearing up to make it even better this year. We already have some confirmed vendors, but we have a handful of free vendor spots remaining if you have a business that serves neurodivergent or special needs kids.

I've been working on making some really nice visual schedule materials for the clinic this morning. I told Canva's Ai to create an image of a zipper in a 2d art style. This is what it gave me. Clearly Ai isn't totally there yet. 😂 Because really, what is this thing?!?

Join us this Saturday for our Neurodiversity Gaming Groups! We've had a short break from groups with all of the holidays, but we've had lots of kids asking when the next groups will be. These groups are meant to be an safe space where kids can be themselves, have fun, and make friends. Refreshments and beverages will be provided so parents can hangout and connect while the kids play.

So excited to introduce everyone to our absolutely incredible Physical Therapist Renea! As Power Up Therapy has grown from one therapist to four, it was important to me to find the best therapists and people to join the team. I truly can't wait for everyone to meet the wonderful therapists joining the Power Up team! We are so lucky to have Renea, and I know she is going to be a tremendous asset to our clinic. She has a wealth of knowledge, and if anyone can help your child meet their PT goals, it's her!

Renea has 28 years of experience as a physical therapist and has discovered her greatest passion is in the field of pediatrics. She is dedicated to helping children of all ages achieve their mobility goals and optimize their physical abilities. Renea has served children through early intervention, in preschool and school settings, home environments, and outpatient clinics. She has experience with infants and children of all ages with developmental delays, neurological disorders, and orthopedic conditions. She is committed to working alongside families to develop individualized therapy plans to meet each child’s specific needs. Outside of the clinic, Renea enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, gardening, and cheering for the TarHeels.

Today I wanted to highlight our awesome sensory gyms. We put in a lot of work to ensure our gyms are accessible and meet the needs of the kids receiving therapy. It's important to me that the therapists at Power Up Therapy have the best tools and equipment at their disposal so they can provide the best services to the children in the community. With our new clinic it has always been about doing therapy right, not cheaply.
