March Mileage competition with our Bodies in Balance Staff is complete!

In March, our team walked 5,340 miles ‼️
For reference to geography in one month the BinB crew walked/ ran:
* nearly 2x across the United States 🇺🇸
* from NYC to Cairo 🌍
* Over 20% around the Earth 🌎

Team 🌺 Blossom and Go took the win (with Blair, Mallory, Doria, Devin and Michelle)
Andrew had the highest Milage with 327 miles in March!

Proud of this crew for stepping up—literally.

🌼 🌺 Spring is in the air! ☀️ But before you dive head-first into that
flower bed, remember: Yard work is a workout. Jumping in "cold" is the
quickest way to end up on our treatment table with a strained back or
aching knees. Here are three PT-approved exercises to a pain-free
garden season:

The "Green Thumb" Warmup ⤵️
Spend 5–10 minutes waking up your muscles to increase blood flow and
joint mobility:
--> Shoulder & Arm Circles: Open up your chest for all that raking and digging.
-->Standing Trunk Rotations: Gently twist from side to side to "oil" your spine.
-->Hip Hinges or Squats: Prep your legs for lifting by hinging at the
hips with a flat back.

Do you have SI JOINT PAIN❓

SI joint pain often happens when the body loses the balance between
mobility and stability. The hips and pelvis need enough mobility to
move well, while the core and surrounding muscles provide stability to
support the joint. When one is lacking, the SI joint can take on more
stress than it should.

That’s why rehab includes exercises that promote healthy movement
through the pelvis and hips while strengthening the muscles that
stabilize the area. Try these three exercises to reduce stress on the
joint and relieve pain!

USE IT or LOSE IT! : The Floor Transfer! ⬇️⬆️

Being able to get on and off the floor safely isn’t just for yoga class—it’s a vital safety skill for life. Whether you’re playing with the dog or practicing fall prevention, keeping this "movement map" in your brain is key. 🧠💪

Here is a simple, 4-step method to practice at home using a sturdy piece of furniture (like a couch or heavy chair) for support:

1️⃣ The Half-Kneel: Face your support. Step one foot back and slowly lower that knee to the floor. 2️⃣ The Full Kneel: Bring the other knee down so you are kneeling with both legs. 3️⃣ Side-Sit: Shift your weight to one hip and swing your legs around to sit. 4️⃣ Reverse it: To get up, get back to that "all-fours" position, put your strongest foot forward into a lunge, use your support, and push up to standing!

PT Tip: Don’t wait for a fall to realize you haven't been on the floor in years! Practice this 2-3 times a week to maintain your mobility and confidence.

Having trouble with your knees or hips when you try this? That’s what we’re here for! DM us or click the link in our bio to book an assessment. 🏥✨

💪 INSANE progress thanks to the hard work of Luke & Alex, as well as the use of our new BFR cuffs.

Blood Flow Restriction can help us safely reduce blood flow around a muscle so that you’re able to recover faster, at a lighter load.

Ask her PT or OT about BFR in your next appointment!
