The Trauma Survivors Foundation The Trauma Survivors Foundation helps children, families, students, and emergency services personnel through counseling, education, training, and scholarships.

The Trauma Survivors Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization incorporated in the State of Delaware. The money raised through donations from caring individuals goes directly to providing services at a national level. Anyone and everyone is affected by trauma and crisis. We want to help those who need our support. Our Mission
The Trauma Survivors Foundation seeks to improve the lives of children and families who have experienced a traumatic event by providing mental health services through a network of trained trauma therapists. The Trauma Survivors Foundation grants scholarships to high school and college seniors who are seeking careers in the mental health field in order to promote further research into trauma psychology. The Trauma Survivors Foundation helps firefighters, police and EMS with scholarships to attend ICISF (International Critical Incident Stress Foundation) approved training classes. The Trauma Survivors Foundation trains emergency service personnel to provide crisis intervention when a traumatic event occurs. Our Needs
We need your help to grow and expand our reach to trauma survivors. From a motor vehicle accident or house fire to a line of duty injury or natural disaster, trauma can come in many forms but the pain is always real. By providing crisis intervention and mental health counseling to affected children and families, we give them hope and the ability to move beyond the traumatic event. We need your help to educate our future trauma therapists and crisis interventionists. By providing scholarships and mentor programs, we want to help students realize their potential as a trauma therapist so they can help traumatized children and families. We need your help to train emergency services personnel in crisis intervention in order for them to support other emergency services workers during a traumatic incident.

Following today’s active shooter incident in New Castle County, our hearts are with the officers, first responders, victims, and families affected.

What happens after the scene is secured is often the hardest part.

When the adrenaline fades, the nervous system catches up. Images replay. Sleep is disrupted. Emotions surface in ways that can feel unfamiliar or overwhelming. These responses are not weakness, they are normal human reactions to abnormal, high-stress events.

For those who responded today, and for the families who love them: connection, rest, and support matter right now. Isolation and “pushing through” do not.

For agencies and leadership, the first 24–72 hours are critical. Early, compassionate support can make a meaningful difference in long-term wellbeing. Presence matters. Follow-through matters.

Today, our focus remains exactly where it belongs on caring for the people who ran toward danger.

We hold them, and their families, in our thoughts tonight.

Big thank you to Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings for welcoming us to their Newark grand opening and for their incredibly generous $1,000 donation to The Trauma Survivors Foundation in support of Delaware’s first responders.

From the lion dance to the ribbon cutting (and yes, the soup dumplings were unreal), it was clear this opening was about more than food, it was about community.

We’re grateful to partner with businesses that genuinely show up for those who show up for others. Welcome to Newark, you did it right. 🥟❤️

We had so much fun spending the evening at celebrating the holidays with people who genuinely show up for our community. Their continued support of The Trauma Survivors Foundation means more than they know and directly helps us continue serving first responders and those impacted by trauma.

Good food, great people, and a whole lot of appreciation. Thank you for supporting the mission and making nights like this feel extra special. ❤️🎅🏼
