Jewish Family Services of Delaware

Jewish Family Services (JFS) is a health and human services agency serving families within Delaware for over a century.

JFS offers outpatient behavioral health and counseling, services for older adults, youth and family support services, and refugee resettlement and émigré services to people without regard to race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, religion, sexual orientation, or gender expression. Committed to continued expansion and deepening of our contributions to the vulnerable communities of Delaware, our vision for the agency is to use our evolving position as a key social service provider in Delaware to strengthen the support available to our most underserved populations. The agency is accredited by the Council on Accreditation and is a member of the United Way of Delaware, Jewish Federation of Delaware, and the national Association of Jewish Family and Children’s Agencies. JFS has received United Way's Community Impact Award, and has been named Lead Agency in the Delaware Aging Network, a consortium of over 50 organizations working together to serve older adults throughout the state.

It's your last chance to donate to Holiday Helpers! Don't miss this chance to help make this holiday season a little brighter for JFS families.

Our clients have shared that gift cards from stores like Target, Walmart, and ShopRite make a big difference. They are able to buy food, clothing, and household essentials in one place. If you prefer, gift cards from similar retailers are also welcome! Think places where families can stretch their dollars and meet everyday needs.

Please have your Holiday Helpers donations to JFS by Monday, November 24 to give our families some time to shop before the holidays.

If it is easier, you can always give money, instead, and we will be happy to purchase gift cards in your name. If you would rather give an actual gift, we will be including a game for each family.

𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭: Kanyah Woods joined our Cancer Care Connection team in July after earning her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Widener University in May. Since then, she’s jumped right in—helping manage our public program, joining community partnership meetings, volunteering on weekends for outreach, and taking on every assignment with enthusiasm.

On top of all that, Kanyah has been diligently studying for her LMSW, and we’re thrilled to share that she passed her exam in early October! She’s now officially a Licensed Master Social Worker and well on her way to becoming an LCSW. Congrats, Kanyah!
