Each Tuesday, we share a tip to make your life a little easier. Today’s tip is about clothing. Even if your child doesn’t have sensory issues, shopping for new clothes can be stressful! To take some of the stress out of the equation, when you find something they like, buy it in a few different colors or patterns. It’ll save you time and a headache!

we wanted to share some tips to keep in mind when talking with school staff.

FSN™ believes good communication with school staff is partly having a positive attitude and viewing yourself as a partner in the process.

Remember to have confidence in yourself and trust in your ability to make decisions for your child.

Sometimes, it helps to practice what you want to say ahead of time, but remember active listening skills are important too.

WHAT DOES NEURODIVERGENT MEAN?? 👇

A relatively new term, neurodivergent simply means someone who thinks differently from the way the majority (referred to as neurotypical) expect.

Neurotypical means the opposite –someone whose brain behaves in the same way as the majority of society.

Individuals who are neurodivergent may have diagnoses such as Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, etc.

Family Support Network™ of SENC can help neurodivergent families navigate things like medical care, school and IEPs, and behavior challenges.
