We all love Wilmington. The parks, the trails, the neighborhoods we walk, run, and recover in. This Earth Day, let's show a little love back.

 EASY THINGS YOU CAN DO THIS EARTH DAY (Wed 4/22):

• Pick up litter on your next walk — even grabbing 5 pieces makes a difference
• Swap a single-use plastic today for something reusable (water bottle, bag, coffee cup)
• Walk or bike somewhere you'd normally drive
• Plant something — even a small herb on your windowsill counts!
• Spread the word — share what you're doing on social and inspire someone else. Tag us () and we’ll reshare to increase the impact!

---

 JOIN US FOR OUR EARTH DAY CLEANUP EVENT!

We're teaming up with Scout Cafe, Jefferson Street Center, and the Brandywine Zoo for a morning cleanup along the Brandywine — and we'd love for you to be part of it.

Here's the plan:

 Meet at the clinic — 1806 N Van Buren St — at 9:45 AM. We'll head down to the for supplies then fan out in the neighborhood, finishing at .is.scout.cafe.

⭐Wear your Omega Project T-shirt (we have some available if you need)

{ QUICK TIP TUESDAY }
➡️➡️

Falls are one of the leading causes of injury in adults over 65 — but they aren't inevitable. The habits you build today can make a real difference tomorrow. 🦵🏻💪🏻

If you're active and in your 50s or 60s, you probably don't think much about your balance. That's actually the perfect time to start. Balance is a skill, and like any skill, it's much easier to maintain than to rebuild after something goes wrong.

Here are some of the most impactful things you can do right now. Full outline on the blog ( 🔗 below )

{ QUICK TIP TUESDAY } PART 3: HYPERMOBILITY

There’s a third layer to this hypermobility picture, and it's the one that explains why some patients do everything right (they strength train consistently, they avoid end-range loading, they pace their activity carefully) and still feel like they're fighting their own body. 🤔🤔

It's the layer that explains disproportionate fatigue, pain that spikes with life stress, a gut that never quite settles, sleep that never quite restores, and a recovery curve that seems to follow its own logic regardless of what the training log says.

That layer is the nervous system. 🧠

🙌🏼🙌🏼 The finale of our 3 week series about hypermobility!

It’s a great, thorough read on the blog. { Link 🖇️ below }

Many thanks to Brianne Scott for her excellent review of hypermobility and how PT approaches need to be different for this population!

{ QUICK TIP TUESDAY } PART 2: HYPERMOBILITY

Hypermobility rehab hits different—and most people get it wrong.

If you’re hypermobile, the goal isn’t more range—it’s more control.

Think:
✔️ Stability over stretching
✔️ Strength that lasts (not just max effort)
✔️ Slower, smarter progressions
✔️ Better movement, not just more movement

Train your body to own the range you already have—and everything changes.

{ QUICK TIP TUESDAY }

Hypermobility isn’t just “being flexible.” 😮

It often means your joints move beyond normal limits — which can actually increase injury risk and slow healing.

Because hypermobile joints rely less on passive stability (ligaments) and more on muscles, they’re more prone to:

🔹Repetitive strain & overuse injuries
🔹Joint instability and poor control
🔹Compensations that build up over time

And when injury does happen? Healing can take longer due to ongoing stress on already unstable joints.

For hypermobile athletes, strength, control, and stability are the real game-changers. ☑️ Check out this week's blog about hypermobility -> Part 1 ! Next week we'll take it a step further.

The Turkish Getup is a full-body strength movement that encourages joint stability through the shoulders, core, hips, and legs. It also improves coordination and balance that translates to more efficient and resilient every day (and athletic) movement.
