Cupping 101
Does it hurt? - No*
Does it cause damage?- No*
Does it work? - Yes* *if properly applied
HOW does it work? - The suction from cupping makes the immune system release histamine, that dialates capillaries. Then, suction pulls plasma and red blood cells into the tissues and up through the layers and the lymphatic system towards the surface. Though no damage occurs, the immune system views this blood in the tissues as damage and goes to work on growth/repair/draining the area. It accelerates healing like nothing I have seen. The peteccia(dotty bruises as blood comes up through the lymphatic system) should disappear within a week.
In healthy tissue, many times the area will not show color for more than a few minutes.
Bottom line?- it works.

Oh my dearest Thay...

My Dear Brave Souls: Blessed Thich Nhat Hanh has walked onward.

He was 95 my dearlings. An old, old man who went home to his 'root monastery' in Viet Nam to live his last days.

The passing of so many giants recently, is so much to bear. Not too much to bear. But so much to bear.

This moment, if you wish to honor, consider dear soul to do something kind for someone else in Thay's name.

Thay was filled with kind regard, but he was no pushover. He was smart and gentle. A daring combination in our time.

Rather than post his image or his list of credits, I would rather offer you an image that reflects how I have understood Thay all these decades: I call him: The Walking Lotus of our Planet..

Go as you are called dear Thay. Thank you so, for leaving behind many humble teachers that you hand-raised. That is the greatest thing you could have done, is leave us others to take up what you lived visibly. For years instead of being in monastery away from most souls, you chose to be near, with us. What a beautiful offering you made of yourself, not for gain, but for love.

I love you dear hermanito. I remember your words: No mud, no lotus.

And my dear brave souls, I love you dearly too for I've seen your resurrections from the dead and mostly dead, time and again, your dazzling soul capes, your true selves unfurling.

I'm retiring now to go kneel at my ofrenda and pray. For all souls to be eased, no matter their circumstance, for all to stay strong. For all to stand in the 'blessing mist' to remember ::: 'Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted'...by us, by each other, by Greater in bold and silent and unusual ways...

We are: Together.
