🌕 Things are a bit … buzzy, aren’t they? Must be that time of the month — the time of the full moon, that is. Exact on December 4th at 6:14PM EST, the moon reaches fullness at 13° Gemini. It is our last full moon of the calendar year.
A full moon illuminates an astrological axis. The sun and moon sit 180° apart, meaning they occupy opposite signs. Right now, the sun moves through Sagittarius while the moon glows full in Gemini. Together, they emphasize truth, knowledge, information, and meaning.
Within this axis lives a fundamental tension: Facts, information, and data (Gemini) meet the meaning we give to them (Sagittarius). Gemini collects, compares, considers, and questions. Sagittarius synthesizes, believes, and declares. Across the two, we gather our observations and weave them into stories. We take what we know and decide what it means.
—The Restless Mind—
Gemini full moons are notorious for waking us up at 3 AM with a mind that can't stop churning. Ideas pile on, and we don't always know what to do with them. This particular lunation carries some challenging signatures — squaring the Nodes of Fate and soon, Saturn and Neptune in Pisces. There are undertones of needing to get something right, of making progress despite the scattered, contradictory energy ricocheting through our heads.
How can we work with this? Lean into whichever side of the axis feels like a void.
If you find yourself drowning in information, paralyzed by too many perspectives or too much data, the invitation comes from the sun in Sagittarius. What does all of this mean to you? What do these revelations and insights tell you about your place in the world? What's the point of it all? Sometimes we need to stop collecting and start interpreting. Knowing what you know now, what’s the vision you have for your life?
On the other hand, if you've found yourself rigid in belief, perhaps even absolutist in your resolve of right and wrong and how things 'should' go, the invitation comes from the Gemini moon. What other perspectives exist? Why might things look the way they do? A little bit of not-knowing can be good for the soul. Conviction needs the humility of questions.
Under this restless chatterbox of a moon, something wants to be seen. Your heart knows the way through, even if your mind hasn't caught up yet. In time, that wisdom will synthesize what you know and believe.
In Magic,
Cat
