A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Summer Social yesterday at our outpatient facility!

It was a fantastic afternoon filled with great conversations, familiar faces, and the chance to reconnect with so many of our valued community partners. Events like these remind us how important collaboration and connection are in the work we do every day.

We’re grateful for the continued support from our community and for the opportunity to share some sweet treats (because what’s summer without ice cream?).

🌟 A Milestone Moment at Kirkwood Recovery 🌟

This past week, we celebrated a powerful and emotional day our Quarterly Program Graduation, featuring some of the very first graduates from our new 3.5 Residential Level of Care. 💙

These courageous individuals walked through our doors seeking change, and they’ve shown incredible strength, growth, and commitment to their recovery journey. Watching them reach this milestone surrounded by our supportive staff and fellow clients was nothing short of inspiring.

We shared tears, laughter, and powerful reflections — a reminder that healing is possible when hope, structure, and community come together. 💪🏽✨

Dino's Ice Cream & Italian Water Ice right here in Wilmington! 🚛

Laughter, sunshine, and good vibes all around as we took a little time to enjoy the summer and each other’s company. 🧡 Thanks to Dino’s for bringing the cool — both in treats and in spirit!

Today, some of our Veteran staff had a meaningful visit with the team at Warriors Helping Warriors in Middletown, DE🇺🇸

We sat down to talk about ways we can support and serve our local Veteran community, including bringing our Veteran IOP group—which follows the Military Reboot Curriculum—to the Veterans they work with. This trauma-focused program is designed specifically for those who’ve served, and we’re looking forward to connecting with their clients and offering an outlet for healing and growth. 💬🧠

We’re grateful for the chance to work alongside a group so dedicated to making a difference. Thank you to Warriors Helping Warriors for your time, your mission, and all you do for Veterans and their families across Delaware. 💙

🧠 June is PTSD Awareness Month 💙

At Kirkwood Recovery, we recognize the deep connection between Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Substance Use Disorder (SUD). Many individuals turn to substances as a way to cope with unresolved trauma, and we believe that true healing begins with understanding the root cause.

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our Equine-Assisted Therapy Group Tracks — now available for qualifying clients in our 3.5 Residential and 2.1 IOP levels of care.
These powerful therapeutic sessions take place on the farm, where clients will:
✨ Participate in group therapy and psychoeducation rooted in the inspiring, real-life stories of horses who have survived abuse and trauma.
🐎 Engage directly with horses, ponies, donkeys, goats, chickens, ducks, and kittens!
🧽 Take part in hands-on activities like horse grooming and even a little chicken chasing (yes, it’s a thing!)
💬 Reflect on healing through the lens of animals who’ve learned to trust again
This is more than therapy — it’s connection, resilience, and recovery in motion.

Today, the Kirkwood Recovery leadership team had the privilege of joining providers, advocates, and policy leaders for Day 2 of the 2025 State Opioid Response Conference. We participated in a range of insightful breakout sessions, each offering valuable knowledge and strategies that will help us continue advancing substance use disorder (SUD) and mental health (MH) treatment across Delaware.
