Happy New Year!

Congratulations—you made it through another year. 2026 is here, and it’s waiting for you to show up fully.

2025 likely had its share of heavy moments—tears, transitions, curveballs you didn’t see coming. But it also gave you laughter, connection, perspective, and growth. Don’t overlook that. You earned every bit of strength you’re carrying into this year.

As you step into 2026, stay open. Take the chances. Say yes to what stretches you and no to what drains you. Love yourself without apology. Release the baggage you were never meant to carry this long. Be present for the moments that matter—because they go fast.

Protect your health. Nurture your relationships. Laugh often and loudly. And remember: joy isn’t something you wait for—it’s something you practice.

This year is yours to shape. Make it meaningful. Make it bold. Make it honest.

Stay cool. Stay funny. Stay you.

Humbly yours,

Your Friendly Neighborhood Shrinkologist,
D!

New Year, New Me’ is just procrastination in a party hat.
The jungle doesn’t care about your resolutions — neither does reality.
If you’re hungry, you eat.
If you’re done, you change.
Today. Not January. 🦁☢️”

You won’t see me on the news.
But when the sirens stop and the cameras leave, I’m still there—holding the pieces together.
Some heroes don’t wear the uniform… they show up when everyone else goes home.

I answered 168 crisis calls this year.
I think about the 102 I couldn’t.
That’s why training through the Trauma Survivors Foundation isn’t optional—it’s essential. Crisis response has to be scalable, not sacrificial.

Life doesn’t end because you failed.
It ends because you got comfortable, stayed scared, and told yourself ‘maybe someday.’
Roots are good.
But never leaving the soil is how curiosity dies.
The world is bigger than your ZIP code.
Stay curious. Not complacent.
The clock is ticking.

Some days you wake up angry.
Some days you wake up heartbroken.
And some days you wake up clear.
Support for first responders isn’t a social media post — it’s how you show up when no one’s watching.
Words are easy. Actions tell the truth.
This isn’t politics.
It’s respect.
And we need to do better.

👇 If you’ve ever felt this in your bones, you’re not alone.

🎄🥪 Operation Christmas Sammies Drop: MISSION ACCOMPLISHED 🥪🎄

This holiday season, The Trauma Survivors Foundation had the honor of delivering some much-deserved Christmas cheer to our local police officers — in the form of hot, delicious breakfast sandwiches from the amazing BlueHen BBQ.

Because sometimes support doesn’t come in a speech or a seminar.
Sometimes it comes wrapped in foil, served hot, and says: we see you, we appreciate you, and we’ve got your back.

Smiles were shared, bellies were filled, and hearts were warmed — and that’s exactly what this season is about.

Huge gratitude to Blue Hen BBQ for fueling the mission and to our officers who continue to show up, especially during the holidays. 💙

Mission accomplished. Community strengthened. Christmas magic delivered. 🎄

Christmas Eve isn’t about perfection.
It’s about peace, presence, and remembering that even after a heavy year… you’re still here, still standing, and still worthy of joy.
If tonight is loud, quiet, joyful, or complicated — this wish is for you.
May peace stay with you long after the lights come down. 🎄✨
Buon Natale. Merry Christmas.

Today weighs heavy on law enforcement, their families, and everyone who understands the cost of this job.

After the sirens fade and the scene is secure, the real work begins — processing what was seen, what was felt, and what was lost. The line-of-duty death of a Delaware State Trooper doesn’t just impact one family or one department. It ripples through every officer who wears the badge and understands how fragile life can be.

This is a moment for connection, compassion, and care — not silence or isolation. How we show up for officers in the next few days matters more than most people realize.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.”
— Psalm

For those who ran toward danger, and for the families who carry the weight alongside them — you are seen. You are not alone.

I’m getting a lot of questions today following the active shooter incident in New Castle County.

I want to say this clearly and from the heart:

What officers experience after the scene is secure is often harder than the moment itself.

When the adrenaline drops, the body and mind catch up. Images replay. Sleep gets disrupted. Emotions surface in unexpected ways. That isn’t weakness — it’s a normal human response to abnormal circumstances.

If you’re an officer who responded today, or someone who loves one, the most important things right now are connection, rest, and support — not isolation, not “toughing it out,” not pretending you’re fine.

And for departments: the first 24–72 hours matter more than most people realize. How support is offered now can significantly influence long-term wellbeing. Presence, compassion, and follow-through make a difference.

I’ll share more when appropriate. But today, the focus belongs exactly where it should be — on taking care of the people who ran toward danger when others couldn’t.

Please keep them, and their families, in your thoughts tonight.
